get colloquial polish by boleslaw w. mazur. and i mean the recent one. it guides you briefly on pronunciation and has 18 lessons recorded by people. u will know how the language is supposed to work(or at least have a good idea of how) backed by least 1,300 words excluding #'s and verb conjugations. but don't expect to be able to understand songs or read articles or understand news. i would get teach urself polish but consistent poor reviews makes suspicious of it.
