Food / Polish Kolaczki recipe [16]

I really want to make these, they sound delicious. There are so many different types of flour here in Poland, which one should I use please? Also, as StevePolish asks, do I need to add baking powder (is that Proszek do Pieczenia) ? Thanks

Food / Cream of Tartar where to buy it in Poland? [6]

I'm English, living in Poland, and I need to buy some Cream of Tartar, which is used to make a creamy consistency in sweets and deserts , not to be mixed up with Tartar Sauce used with steak etc

Please can anyone tell me what it's called here? Thank you

Food / what kind of sauce should I make for my gołąbki? [63]

Depends I suppose on where you are, when I was in England I used to love a bit of HP or Branson sauce on them, here I prefer sour cream to Tomato sauce, but then I hate ketchup.

Food / POLISH SURÓWKI (salads) [5]

Kapusta biala

Hi, thanks for that, I have bought the kapusta before, but it wasn't as nice, tasted a bit of Saukraut, and I don't like that. The Pizzeria we go to in Poland make great surowki.

Food / POLISH SURÓWKI (salads) [5]

I really like the Polish salads (surówki I think) and have tried to make them at home, the dressing I was told to use was oil, vinegar and sugar, but they're just not the same as I've tasted, I'm missing something. The ones I like are........... Fasolka szparagowa, Kapusta biala, buraczki, Kapusta pekinska.

Can anyone give me any advice on how to make these please?

Food / Blueberry Pierogi's [30]

I really like the polish style salads (surowka I think) like white cabbage, beetroot, carrot etc, I've tried making them at home but there's something missing. I've been told to make the dressing with oil, vinegar and sugar, does anyone know where I'm going wrong please?

Blueberry Pierogi's

Hey there, sorry I put my question about salads on your thread, I'll get used to the system eventually!
