Travel / Petrified of traveling to Poland by myself [9]

Cześć,

I'm traveling to Poland for my spring break from Feb. 22-29, 2008 and I'll be traveling by myself in Europe for the first time.

I'm half Polish, but don't speak it very well. I'm flying into Warszawa and flying out of Katowice. I'm going to be visiting Czestochowa, Zakopane, and possibly £odż, Poznan, or Wracław. Can anyone offer me any good advice? Things to do in the winter? Good clubs in any of the cities? I'm really nervous about being on my own and not knowing the language very well!

Genealogy / Polish and Mongolian [30]

This is really interesting to know. My best friend and her mother both often get confused for being part asian or native. My father also has an asiany kind of look to his eyes...When he was clean shaven I used to call him "Chinese Warlord." Could my best friend and my father's features been caused from mixing with the Monols when they invaded?

I'm 1/2 Polish
1/8 Hungarian
1/8 German
1/4 Irish

My father is 100% Polish but his dad never taught him any Polish. I'm a third generation American lol I just started learning Polish in my university in Canada. Its rather hard
