Correct. Christians are under New Covenant with God.
And to someone who said that religions are root of the problems in the world today - please don`t mix Christianity with religion. SOME religions cost problems, I agree. Christianity is not a religion. :)

Texas, you did not marry them, you marry they daughter. If they - not knowing you - told her they will never accept you, I will say stay away from them. You do not need they approval. If your wife is half as smart as you say she is, she will realize that her parents are manipulative and controlling. Is time for her to grow up and stand by her man.

Do not let your emotions to be controlled by couple of hard-headed and - sorry to say - ridiculous people.
PS. If you are in any way "different" ( Jewish, Baptist, Black) they will never accept you, anyway.
