History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

Guys, guys - all polish colleagues for our controversion scattered!...

By the way, being a staunch supporter оа globalisation I nevertheles can't get the following: why Soviet invasion to Afghanistan was essentially invasion and US' - fight for democracy?

P.S. I like America. I grew up in the age of video in late 80s. Being a mative moscovite i wuz pretty sure that Manhatten is more familiar to me that the centre of Moscow (its historical part).

ont be so self-centred, nobody in Russia even remember about this episode

Even state authorities do. I was in the Tver region in Nilova Pustyn monastery where orthodox Church hierarchs sponsored a memorial for polish officers exterminated by Stalin.

P.S. We are so lucky in Russia: we don't have to hate someone else - those like Costya attract all negative fluids. I'll be damned!

Germans created theory which had hardly anything in common with totalitarian and genocidal state Russians created.

Don't take it too hard my slavic brother))
As for "state" it was genocidal towards russians mainly. And it was titled Soviet Union - communists hated the historical name.

Truhlei,
Well, i don't know really. May be you are right. I think the extermination of noble elite in Russia won't be reimbursed ever. Gas tycoons (i used to work at Gazprom for some time) don't have a chance. Their childrean or children of their children - probably.

what do you think about slavic union idea?and do you think kosovo should have independence?

Slavic Union: I think that Russia should aim to join EU by ... 2030.
Kosovo: it's a trace of velikorusski chauvinism as to Russians to stand for "orthodox brothers" serbs. Still, i do think that European countries should carry out an independent policy. States's aggressive influence is a time bomb.

Ok. I am going to take a sleep keeping in mind that I'm a "russian beast". You've been very persuasive. I admit.

Thanks for your comments. I think i've got a coverage. The more I live the more I realise: people and characters don't differ much, either polish, russian or hondurassian))

Dzerzhinsky - one of the top-level bolshevik leaders was Polish and he invented "the War communism" which lead to the terror policy. Some of my ancestors vanished. And I don't blame polish for that. Actually I wouldn't have an idea. Ever.

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

For the past several yrs we've been wondering here in Russia: why? Could a whole nation be an amalgamation of all fears for Poland?

We have a long history of mutual claims. So what? Romanovs are gone, so as Jageillos. Russia suffered the communist regime as well. We lost millions.

Actually, I'm asking due to the fact that such in somewhat hysterical foreign policy would never counter to people's opinion in a democratic society.
