For the record, I am a Brit, before you start throwing your toys out of your pram:)

The point i'm trying to make is that there is a well documented benefits culture here in UK which is all too often the easy way out for many British people to live their lives. Polish people coming to UK generally do so to work, not to live freely on government hand-outs available to UK citizens. To reiterate, i'm not criticising those in genuine need of help, but it can't be denied taking blatant advantage of the benefits system goes on.

If it wasn't for the economic benefits of working in England I couldn't imagine why anyone would want to come and live here. Nanny state, political correctness, litigious society, high cost of living, permanent rain (well in Manchester anyway!), uncontrollable crime, laws favouring the perpetrators of crime over their victims, and general governmental incompetence to name a few reasons why I'm leaving UK for Poland in 2008.

UK people should be pleased that the Polish people have such a good work ethic and want to improve themselves (and in many cases for the benefit of their families back home). Obviously there are always exceptions, and I'm not denigrating the genuine people in need, but how many Poles do you see having loads of kids, living in a free flat, living off benefits and watching Trisha/Jeremy Kyle every day??
