Life / What makes you proud to be Polish? [150]

I'm proud to be 1/2 Polish, because most of the people I know don't have any idea what their culture is here. I'm proud to know the little bit of language I do know, and use it in my everyday speech. I love the fact that my Babcia instilled so much Polish in me, I don't know that it's Polish, and delight finding out how much that 1/2 really stands out. I am also Irish and Dutch from my father's side- who had no idea of their customs and roots. There's something to be said about knowing where you come from. So far, I learned that if I moved to Poland, I would fit right in. Although I still have my sites set on the island of Kaua'i (Hawai'ian island).

USA, Canada / The Polish Constitution Day Parade in Chicago [17]

You'd think that the Cinco De Mayo celebrations would fill up the streets in Chicago. My mother lives in the suburbs and it's still a mad house with all the Mexican parades.
