Law / Permission to sell alcohol in Poland [3]

Opening a kawiarnia with my Polish partner and want to know if anyone has gone through the process of getting a license to sell alcohol and what different options there are. is it different for just beer and wine? I have been looking around for info and trying to ease the load n my partner who is dealing with some other issues at the moment... Please let me know if anyone has useful links, knowledge or experience.

Law / Starting a coffee shop in Poland [14]

How is this project going along? Where did you set it up? I am thinking of doing the same thing and in need of a company to do some finishing work in my retail space in the Lodz area. Any thoughts?

Real Estate / Foreigners: Please don't buy Polish Land! [823]

Finding the clitoris (page 21, not mine), hitler blaming the jews and foreigners go home... this has been an entertaining morning cup of coffee. I agree, we should all go back to where ever the **** we came from and revert nationalism and continental and global war. Everyone was better off on their own, certainly Poland, Britain, Ireland, Germany, America, France...

But keep this up, the most active thread on the forum me thinks.

Anyone know a good retail fitter/finisher in Lodz for another foreign investment out to destroy the Polish way of life, steal their women and drink all their vodka?

Food / Cost of Nescafe coffee in Poland. [49]

Lodz will be getting a good coffee shop in about three months, in Scheibler's old factory... roasting in house, quality beans... come in for a good cup and ask for Jay. We will chat beans and brews in store, vodka and beers outside.

Life / Most overpriced things in Poland? [72]

I make my own curry pastes, that saves a bit, unless you need some strange and overly expensive ingredients.

Good coffee perhaps is a bit expensive (trying to fix that)...

Beef. If you can find good beef, it is dear. And that is if you can find it...

Train tickets are not so cheap when you look at what you get, but I have traveled up and down central and eastern Europe and it is pretty much the same. Germany and Holland and maybe Spain are the better values if you know how to book in advance and look for deals, otherwise they are overpriced and expensive too. But at least you can stand to look at the toilets...

Saying that, there are 23pln tickets from Lodz to Warsaw now at certain times of the day and those trains are nice, but the toilet doors don't always lock properly, which I found out the embarrassing way when going to toilet and have it soooo silently open up behind me, showing ass and bit and bots to everyone.

They just sat there, politely smiled and tried not to look and laugh.

Yikes!
