Food / Polish Kolaczki recipe [16]

I have seen some recipes with a leavening agent such as baking soda in it. Has anyone tried such? Was wondering what the difference would be? I tried them at New Deluxe Bakery in Hamtramck and didnt care for them, however, went to New PALACE Bakery and loved them!
