I think that the county archives would be more appropriate for my search right now, especially if the USCs only hold records for 40 years. Do you have any idea as to how I would contact the various counties?

I am in need of assistance of locating a birth certificate from Poland. however, I don't know the name of the area of where this person was born. I have a name and date of birth. Does that help at all?
