USA, Canada / USCIS Filling fees [5]

Well I'm pretty sure I have to.. otherwise I'll be here with expired green card...

You could always try to get a fee waiver from the USCIS, although it will delay your processing time as the waiver must be approved first before they look at your I-751. Here's some more info:

I don't think I would qualify for the waiver but sure it's worth trying.... if I could just do it in $100 payments that would be awesome! or use a credit card... you would think that would be possible..

We had to wait for our tax returns when I filed for my green card. Who has over $1000 to spare right after you get married and have a baby?!

Yeah.. everything changed in 2006 looks like... Not only it's more difficult but also more expensive. Most fees doubled since then.. it's crazy!!!!

USA, Canada / USCIS Filling fees [5]

So I need to submit form I-751 Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence. The fee is $465 + additional biometric fee of $80. that's almost $550!!!! My husband and I just bought a house and we'll be closing at the end of August.. The down payment completely wipes us out!!! There's no way for me to pay over $500!!! Do you guys know if there's a way to reduce the fee or make payments or anything like that??? I tried to call USCIS and there's only automated information line... What will happen if I don’t submit that form in time? My card expires in January and I need to submit the form 90 days prior to that.

Ridiculous is understatement. I come to find out that not only I have to go to LA and apply for my passport in person but before I do that I have to place my marriage certificate in USC (Urząd Stany Cywilnego - registry office) in Poland. I can't just mail it there either. I will have to ask my mom to submit that for me there (so I have to authorize her to do that). Of course I have to obtain certified copy and translate my marriage certificate first along with birth certificates... then.. after 3 months or so I should receive a document stating I've placed it there and then I can make a trip to LA and apply for new passport! I'm so pissed!!! It's such a hassle!!! It's so expensive too. On top of it I have to submit a petition to remove condition on residence... and now they charge $545!!!!!!!

Wow! Looks like a lot of work... Good think I don't need it right away... I hope I will be able to do it via mail.. It will be really difficult for me to go there in person.

I can't find any forms on their (LA) website thou... Can someone give me a link??
