Genealogy / Surnames: Mikołajec, Mikołajetz - Raciborz, Rybnik and Raciborski? [8]

Looking for some information in trying to find my late fathers family.
Original surname was Mikołajetz but was changed to Mikolajec after WW2.

Father = Edward
Grandfather = Karl / Karol
Grandmother = Marie / Maria
Sisters, Halina and Franceska
Brother Gus.

Born Raciborz / Rydnik 1922/1926

There is some confusion with my fathers date of birth. He maintained he was born in 1922, but some paperwork that has appeared shows 1926.
Polish red cross have said he was born in 1922.

Please help as I am very confused.
