News / Poland adopting the Euro, but when? [65]

At the moment the government is pushing for the Euro introduction from 2012. This means entering the ERM2 mechanism in the first half of 2009 (pegging the Zloty to the Euro rate). The government can decide to enter the ERM2, but to actually adapt the Euro, a change in constitution is most likely needed, thus needing to convince the opposition to get the Euro as soon as possible.

Food / Best donuts in Warsaw? [22]

I'm from Belgium too and the poor quality of Polish bread was shocking to me as well. The bread available in supermarkets or small shops doesn't taste good at all, and is stale after a day or something. I do have a bakery in my town, where the bread is better quality, so it's not that bad after all.

Regarding the 'donuts', I found the paczki which you can buy in Chmielna (not far from Blikle :p) actually really great. They're still warm when u buy them, and the chocolate inside (when u buy one with chocolate inside! ;p) is still warm and liquid! Too bad I don't pass there often anymore :(

Law / Question about meldunek - valid for 3 months only? [2]

I have a question regarding my zameldowania. I arrived in poland about half a year ago and got a zameldowania at my gmina, registering at my girlfriends parents house. I myself am living in an appartment in the same town. After that i registered at ul. DÅ‚uga 5 and got a residence permit (no more Karta Pobytu apparently) which they said was valid 5 years.

However, my zameldowania says only to be valid 3 monts (pobyt czasowy). Must I go back to my gmina and get a 'stale' zameldowania, or is this not necessary?

Already thanks for the help! :)
