Travel / Will my rented car be stolen or broken into when in Poland? [24]

Looking at many messages on the internet it portrays driving in
poland is horrible. Questions

1.I will be renting a small car like the OPEL CORSA. Whats the odds it will
be stolen if I don't use $$$$$$ guarded parking. Or do they just steal luxury
cars.

2. Whats the odds it will be broken into if not in $$$$$$ guarded parking.

As far as bad drivers I'm not too concerned as I survived Portugal and Italy. Both
countries have crazy drivers.

Thanks for your help.

Travel / AGROTOURISM FARMS [10]

I'm confused. Hotels cost $75-$200 night !!! Very nice homes and cabins are
very very cheap. Why do hotels cost so much??

Travel / Restaurants in small Polish villages [5]

I seen this comment posted by someone from Poland that raises a question;

"Although restaurants are not very popular with the locals, Poland does have a large selection of restaurants which serve mostly tourists,"

We want to find restaurants in small villages to better experience Poland and save money and get off the beaten path where tourists go. Are restaurants available in small villages? Small would be populations up to 5,000 people.

Using a dictionary its hard to put together a sentence. Can someone help us to translate the following questions that we could show to somenone when we visit the country.

>Can you please show me to a good but inexpensive restaurant?
>Can you please show me a good but inexpensive hotel?
>Can I please see your menu for house wine?
>Where is the nearest gas station?
>Can you add garlic to my order?
>I am not satisfied with this meal can I order another one without extra charge?
>Where can I park?
>Could you please order a taxi for us?
> Where is the nearest toilet?

These are only a few but it would make it easier for us. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks

Life / HOW CAN POLISH PEOPLE AFFORD IT?? They are said to earn very little..? [43]

THANKS TO ALL who responded to my original post. I have a better understanding now. I am an American polish. My great grandfather came from Krakow and was a farmer. Its a shame the 2 world wars and communism did so much damage to their great country. I plan on visiting Poland in May if the dollar doesn't drop more and gas prices don't spike.

Help me understand. Wages in Poland are 700 to 900 US dollars a month. Hotels in the
moderate range are 90-150 US dollars a month. Gas is $7 USD gallon. Restaurants are
10-20 USD a month. What am I missing here. How can the Polish people afford to go out.
This has nothing to do us exchange rate because if you translated to PLN then the problem would be the same. Please help me understand.

Travel / Hotel websites that show all hotels available in areas of Poland? [18]

Merged: POLAND HOTELS (moderately priced)?

We are planning to visit Poland the first 2 weeks in MAY and we will be renting a car so we can take our time. Our concern are most moderate priced hotels reserved during this period? If so we would have to cancel our trip. We don't want to reserve in advance so we don't feel rushed.

Thanks
Bob
