I do love Poland and Polish people but it will be a huge learning curve for me to bite my tongue as I am used to speaking out when i don't like something. I was in a Hotel in Poland and they served this up to me for breakfast, I simply asked them to redo the eggs a little better as they were almost raw, but afterwards it was delicious. Just sometimes people make things to their taste and for me eggs especially have to be very well cooked. Remember years ago people in the UK would eat raw eggs too, cracked into a glass and swallowed whole. This was a very common hangover cure and no-one ever died from it.

I do not think Poland differs from any other country in relation to Car Theft. If you are unlucky you may get your car stolen however there is a larger percentage of chance that it will not be touched. Do not leave valuables in the car or bags, even shopping bags can arouse curiousity.. make sure the inside of the car is invitation free.

Well Shelley it is a well known fact that there are a lot of Polish people working in the UK and being paid Sterling. I do not see anywhere in my last post that I blamed the British economy for Polands problems and my post was merely informational for those people who live and work in the UK who are intending to bring their savings back to build their own homes. In addition to this my wifes family are from Poland and we think about their situation daily, thanks for reminding me to think about them again, i'll be calling them this evening and shall pass on your concerns.

I think what Cooper is saying is true, there is no need to get on your high horse Puzzler, I and my Polish wife and her family understand how difficult it can be especially with government officials, they look at you as if you have two heads when you ask for something, even when you are paying for their time. Shop assistants can be also have the same traight of thought.. when you enter the shop it's like, "Why should I sell you this, and you can forget about bringing it back if it is faulty.

Apart from that and a few other things, I like Poland,..

Polish people do not complain enough, you are being trodden on by your local government departments, who YOU are paying with your taxes, they are the Peoples employees, and as for the shops, they should give guarantees and train their staff to be nicer to the public, after all it is the public who keep the business running.

Hey Buddy, I don't know about that, were you in the toilet when each of those planes touched down? I fly to Poland about 6 times per year on average, that's twelve planes with Polish people on them,... They have all clapped when touching down, every single time.

It's pretty obvious by reading through this forum that no-one has yet to encounter the queues in departures of any flights going to Poland.

Ok well imagine this: Sitting in the departure lounge having a coffee waiting on the call for boarding, everything is calm quiet, people talking, giggling, some watching the departures board, then all of a sudden, the voice over the loudpspeaker says, passengers for flight number, blah blah blah to Wroclaw, then everyone stands up at the same time, runs towards the gate, the security guards and airport customer service team looking in horror as a 200 strong herd of humans come trundling towards them, pushing and shoving, bags dropping and men pushing past women with kids just to get to the front of the queue. The customer service crew announce that passengers with young children to proceed to the gate first, however this is made impossible because the line is unbreakable. I have been on many flights to Poland and they are all the same, the men have no manners and try to jump the queue, and would not offer a pregnant woman a seat when on the bus travelling from the terminal to the aircraft, my wife and I were almost stampeded when we were struggling with our luggage and a pram down two flights of stairs in Dublin Airport. I am afraid in this case, Wroclaw boy is right and there needs to be some manners taught to the majority of Polish people.. here;s the deal, stay in line, do not jump the queue and offer older women or pregnant women your seat on public transport.

I intend to Open a pub in Poland and would be grateful if anyone who has experience in this could contact me. I need to research, licensing and who are the best wholesalers for beer wines and spirits. I know there are differences in the licencing for beers_Wines and spirits. I intend also to serve food, maybe some contacts in the pub fixtures and furnishings and of course a good shop fitting company.

Hi There, we also bought land in Poland and hope to start building around September 2008, it is true that building products have increased already, that with the ever decreasing value of Sterling V Zlotych, it means that building in Poland is becoming very expensive. The land that we bought last year is worth almost double what we paid for it as we are in the outskirts of the city.. Not good news i'm afraid... prices are going up in Poland however the salaries remain the same.
