lol, i know

it's people like that who inspired me to choose this as my dissertation project. i live in the heart of the polish community here in Reading and it's great. The poles have completely changed the neighborhood, now it's actually quite nice whereas before it was a bit rough.

If people just spent less time reading the daily mail and actually seeing whats really going on they'd soon change their tune

UK, Ireland / Working with my Polish friends in UK [28]

At the end of the day the poles are giving this economy a much needed boost with a work ethic that frankly makes us brits looks incredibly lazy.

And don't get so worked up by it, all labour changes are cyclical and a majority of the poles don't intend to stay here permanently. I wouldn't want somebody telling me where i can and can't live, its everybody's basic freedom as far as im concerned.

The ignorance of some of the people on this message board is ridiculous, use some common sense and you'll see the real benefits of such a pluralised society

UK, Ireland / I'm writing a Dissertation on the Polish experience in England [8]

Hi, I'm at student at Swansea University and am writing my final year dissertation on Polish migration into Reading. Specifically about cultural changes in the area.

If anybody has something they feel could be relevent to my study i would be very grateful for your help. I'm trying to describe the positve impacts on my area which is easy enough but it would be nice to get some feedback from Polish residents in the U.K

Basically anything on how you're finding life in Britain, good or bad as well as anything you'd like to see the government do to make your life easier.

Thanks a lot
