I just took a look on a website from the U.K. that deals with visas and work permits. Says I don't need a visa, although, I already knew that. I'm still not totally sure whether a work permit will be required for a 3 month stay.

...but iI would nee a work permit, right? I will be in the U.K. for a 3 month stay, I would like to get a job there during this time frame. I'm wondering whether I'd need a work permit to hold that job. That is my question.

The thing that I'm basically wondering about is what passport to use prior to entering the U.K. (if it will even matter). However, I will have both on me just in case. But, I'm guessing my best bet will be to ask the U.K. consulate in the city.

I've traveled by rail in Poland alone and overnight. I did not feel it to be dangerous. However, I would still recommend traveling with someone else versus alone. I've also been on the subway in new york city; Now that is a scare!

I wouldn't give up. I would search around on the internet, find some university's in PL that specialize in this area, and see we what info they can offer you. Research your field, and see how many companies you can come up with, and send them your resume, or ask them for internships. Are you done with school? Bachelor's? Master's?

I guess it all depends on the type of gun, regular pistols and handguns could be the easiest to register, etc. However shotguns and the like can be harder, it could also depend on the caliber of the gun, etc. I remember someone mentioning to me about a friend of his who was legally able to bring a gun, a pistol of some sort, in Poland from the U.S. Best bet is to ask to local police.

However, I reckon gun control is a lot more stricter in Poland than in the U.S (However, this could change). I guess it's interesting you brought this subject up, considering there was another deadly shooting in the U.S at a university campus in Chicago. RIP

Honestly, if this so called recession hits the U.S., that is if its hasn't occurred already (I really hope it doesn't, atleast for the time being). The dollars going to keep on falling. OPEC is already considering changing the value of oil from American dollars to Euro's; now whether that will actually happen, who knows.

Well, this is what I plan on doing. I'll be leaving for Poland May 20th, and leaving Poland Sept. 1. About 101 days? THe way I'm understanding this is that I would spend say about 45 days in Poland then go to the Ukraine (which is very close to where I'll be in PL) for about 11 days, and then spend the rest of the 45 days in Poland. :)

Well, I'll be flying from New York to Heathrow, and then I was considering taking a coach bus as an alternative cheaper form of transportation, in addition to seeing Europe by road. I believe it would come out to about 750 USD going this route. There is also a flight from New York to Dublin, then Dublin to Krakow, for about 910 USD. So I wonder if its worth saving the 160 or so. The thing about Wizz, Ryan, anf the other low cost carriers is the fact that they'll charge extra for baggage, and they do not fly into Heathrow, or Gatwick, so I would have to be transferring between airports. As far as seating is concerned, I don't need to be that confortable to fall asleep, I can do it just about anywhere :) Anyway, I'll be looking into this more and more.

That sounds rather appealing.

Anyway, the tickets for the coach bus going to Poland is about 50 pounds each way. Its actually more or less equal in price (traveling by air vs. traveling by road). The only thing is that, the airline I will be traveling will from New York to the UK, allows 2 bags of 22 kg each. Centralwings allows only one I believe? of 20kg? With the option of purchasing an additional allowance of 12 kg. Also, I need to look at the times of arrival and departure. because I dont think I want to be sitting at the airport overnight, waiting for my flight. Hmmm, maybe another airline flys to Gatwick from Krakow, or Rzeszow?
