Are you sure that you really want to drag a bag of fruit half way across the world? Seriously?

Travel / Would like to visit krakow, any advice? [11]

When I was in Krakow earlier this year, I did this tour: crazyguides.com

Great fun, and the guy who took us was a mine of information on the area and its history.

Lots of great bars and jazz venues on Florianska too.

Life / How much do you HATE POLISH PEOPLE and POLAND [1260]

He's right in a way - there is a certain "laddish" culture among a certain age group of women in the UK - say teens and women in their twenties...

Sure, we like to go out and have a good time rather than sit on the sidelines... we also do it in lipgloss and heels.

Life / How much do you HATE POLISH PEOPLE and POLAND [1260]

The fact is sad but true - Friday and Saturday nights in some clubs resemble being in a meat market...

You could say that about dead-beat towns almost anywhere in the world.

Travel / Health Tourism in Poland [17]

Merged: Medical Tourism in Poland

Interesting article on the radio (in the UK) earlier today – about people travelling to places in Central and Eastern Europe to get value for money on cosmetic surgery. Lots of flippant remarks about “nip n tuck holidays”.

I was thinking about getting some dental treatment next time I'm over in Warsaw... am currently doing my research. I'd get much better value for money in a private clinic in Poland compared to what I'd pay in London.

Just wondered what the PF verdict was on this rather topical issue.

Cheers - although I was looking at [statmedica.com/tourism.php?art=0] at the weekend, and have been in contact in order to find out prices etc

I am loking at getting veneers - my dentist in London is really having a laugh with some of the prices that he's quoted me LOL!

Life / Polish dentists - good and cheap? [84]

I started a thread about this the other day - I am based in the UK but will be getting some veneers next time I am in Poland.

I've been in contact with statmedica.com/tourism.php?art=0

There's a lady there called Alison who has been really helpful in recommending where to go.

UK, Ireland / British Airways cancels Heathrow to Warsaw flights ! [23]

From February the airport near me (one hour away by public transport ie bus) will operate to 4 Polish airport currently operates to Katowice and Gdansk but will be going to Poznan and Wroclaw ... only thing i have found though is the flight times have changed ... like arriving into Gdansk will be at 0115am in the morning (used to be just after 2pm arrival) and the poznan flight will arrive at 0040am ....

Interesting stat that I heard recently was that there are 490 flights from UK + Ireland to Poland every week.

Gawd, I sound like a plane spotter LOL!

Travel / Gay bars in Warsaw [16]

Hi - a mate of mine has to spend a bit of time in Warsaw with work. He's been asking me about gay bars and clubs, and whether there was generally much of a scene.

I don't recall seeing any gay bars whenever I've been there - but there has to be a a couple of places to where he and his partner (who will probably pop over to visit at weekends) can hang out without any probs?

Any tips or recommendations of places to go would be appreciated.

Travel / Going to krakow and Auschwitz in January [8]

I did a crazyguides tour last January - I really recommend it, though it is intense, rather than hop-on / hop-off. Basically my husband and I were driven around Nowa Huta in a trabbi by a student who was really passionate about the history. He was really flexible about picking us up, and took us on a few detours to show us some really atmospheric views of the steel plant.
