UK, Ireland / Same banks in Lodz as in UK? [12]

Hello Bev, I see it's sometime now since you moved to Poland and was wondering what it's like living there? I too may be moving over there with my wife and 2 yr old son sometime next year.....

- How are you finding the language barrier? I see you previously commented harder than living in the UK but easier than South Korea?
- How big is the expat community in Lodz, are you able to find some international communities?
- Do you know of any expats there with kids? I've a 2 yr old son and was looking for kindergartens etc... sofar didn't find any on the web

...yeh it`s a bit strange..I actually visited Golf Palace today and looks a nice course, just to keep my hand in whilst I`m in Lodz. Spoke with the girl at the reception and her English was pretty good, cost is 180PLN for 18 holes with no membership fees or tee off times needed....asking my local friend to verify the price and details...address

You take road 14 direction Warsaw and its about 20 KM/ 20min from Lodz the town is more of a hamlet that 14 runs through and there`s a big sign for the `country club`turn left and after about 400 m there is a chicane over a railway and then take the right hand turn down a track, there is another sign...and then you will see the grand country club on the left at the end of the track....it`s basically 2 wooden huts...Had a quick walk around the driving range and course looks fine will play hopefully in the next week or 2....Apparantly there was a tournament in Warsaw this weekend as at 10:15 am there were 3 cars at the course and 2 chaps on the driving range...should have taken my clubs and asked my 2yr old to caddy!! expect it is not always this quiet on a weekend..

Study / Preschool/ Kindergartens in Lodz? [5]

Richard, we did visit a place, and need to check the name again, there were some foreign kids, but only from 3 upwards and our son is 2 yrs old, hence if you or anyone else knows of any other kindergartens or playgroups that maybe rotate around peoples houses etc... appreciate if you can let me know...thanks in advance
