Love / Poking tongue out at a Polish girl - is it considered rude/offensive? [37]

The context is......I was right about something at work, and a Polish female workmate ( a good friend) was wrong. So when I got complimented by the boss,I stuck my tongue out at her,in a joking " Nana na nana" way.

She then muttered something at me in Polish ( it might have been " You wish",but I doubt that). And wouldn't speak to me for the rest of the day.

Did I offend her?,or was she just ticked at being wrong?.

Language / Why do people want to study Polish? [90]

My reason for starting to learn Polish is that I am dating a Polish girl and I am serious about her. I also like to learn new languages, but I have to say this is more challenging than I thought.

I echo Christians reply. At first we thought it was fun playing charades in order to communicate with eachother. But that soon led to frustration when we tried a "meaningful" dialogue.

We play a game now where we take turns in pointing at something, and learning what it is called in eachothers language.
This is great for everyday objects, but I,especially, have a long way to go before I graduate to full sentences.

UK, Ireland / We welcome Polish people to Britain! [224]

You really are a Neanderthal Lennyd!

Before I sold my company last year I employed 14 Polish citizens.Do you know why??
Because they never ever complained, they were never late for work, sometimes we would do a 18 hour day,and they would eagerly do more if it was needed.

They got paid well above the minimum wage, and I awarded bonuses, and they could take as much fish home as they pleased. If any of them needed extra money ie for a car or deposit on accomodation..........it was there for them! I was there as the "tea-boy".If we were having a long day I would send out for pizza or Macdonalds.

Would I do this for an English workforce?.........NOT A CHANCE!.

The Polish people are here to make a better living for themselves and their families.
Some of your comments make me ashamed to be British.
I have never met a Pole that I didnt like or become freinds with.I cant say that about my countrymen.Give me 10 Polish workers instead of 20 English workers any day!.

There is a word for you in Polish..........it starts with a "D".

UK, Ireland / We welcome Polish people to Britain! [224]

Im sorry for my rant above Pdoll, but this idiot has really wound me up.Ive just been looking at some of the other garbage he has written, geez!.

I found that my workforce would discuss any problems between themselves and then elect a spokesperson to talk to me.99.9% of the time I would decide or remedy the problem in their favour.

If it had been an English workforce they would have walked out or called the union in.
The most common complaints I recieved were............." Ian,you have bought the wrong doughnuts,or biscuits" lol.

there are some positions some Brits seem to see as "below" themselves

Absoloutly right. My business involves fish, obviously.Yet when I used to advertise,or tell people ( Brits) what the job involved, packing, icing, freezing etc......the common reaction I got was "Yuk! Im not touching fish".Then they used to go away and get a job earning less than what I was paying.

When some of these people are still doing the same dreary job in ten years time,..............I WILL be laid on the sand outside my beach house in Mexico, with my Polish wife, hopefully :))

Lennyd. You accuse me of exploitation.Do you even know what the word means??

Exploit....to use for gain. You say nobody works an 18 hour day.YES they do!!.I have never ever had a job where I worked less than 12 hours a day.Whether it be at sea fishing or in the Merchant Navy,a 12 hour day is standard.

I would put a bet on that you are not employed. What is your exscuse for not working? Oh yeah, the "Pollacks" ( Sorry everyone,no offense intended.Im just quoting this idiot),have stolen all the jobs. There is no excuse for anybody not working these days. The work is there for all,you just need to get off your brain and go find it.

Do you enjoy Chinese and Indian food??.Are you not exploiting that resourse everytime you have a takeaway?.And then........just to prove you are a racist thug....you bring football into the equation. You moron!.

My factory was full of hardworking, honest, reliable Polish workers because the locals DONT WANT to work.I didnt advertise for Polish ONLY,I would employ anyone who wanted to work.

If by exploitation you mean........did I pay above average wages,yes.Guilty.
Did I provide health and dental expenses, yes.Guilty
Did I provide extra financial aid if needed,yes.Guilty.

I had atleast 7 workers who were with me for 3 years or more.Does it really sound to you that I was exploiting them?.When I sold the company they all got a large financial pay off ( something that I wasnt obliged to do),and I made sure they all had other jobs to go to.Exploitation? LOOK IN THE DICTIONARY.

If all the Polish and other immigrant workers left England tomorrow, this country would grind to a halt, fact!!

So,as per the title of this post..." I WELCOME ALL YOU POLISH PEOPLE TO BRITAIN".Dont be put off by narrow minded views of brainless, lazy thugs like this idiot Lennyd!.
