i mean most of them..soon i'll be sent to work to Poland for several months and i wonder if it's possible to survive there without being able to speak Polish.

i'd love to be able to speak Polish of course but i'm working with several Polish people here in France and they all discourage me from learning it by saying it's one of the most difficult languages in the world(i've also come across this statement here in forum). i'll be working in krakow

Polish sounds like szrzrszrzzsz to me.. to many sz and rz. but i like to listen to Polish:D i sometimes watch tv Polonia and it sounds cool.especially spoken by kids.i think it is pleasant to listen.of course not as much as French:)) but there are "ugly" languages. i hate scandinavian and german lgs.

well , i don't know lol
but it does sound difficult, i'll try to learn basic expressions ,as some suggested here,and terms connected with my job. i guess i won't learn much within 2 weeks:)

is there some nice Polish girl willing to be my teacher?:P

we use to say: saoul comme un Polonais lol ok.nevermind:P

but my Polish mates say beer is nowadays more popular than vodka.

i think Polish people should finally learn to drink French wine (i assure you it's the best in the world:D)

Why are German and the Scandinavian languages "ugly" to your ears?

i agree with everybody who says that German sounds harsh. compare it to Italian, Spanish, or even English.i think they are easier to listen

as for Scandinavian languages- i can't explain it, i just don't like. i know some Danish people and often heard them speaking to each other. then Swedish and Norwegian sound much better when they are sung rather than spoken but maybe it's just because there're lots of good singers

i work with Polish people and they don't seem to view themselves superior to anyone else. i'd even say they often underestimate themselves. but yes they are proud people they like to highlight their bravery in history.

they tend to look down on russians ..but russians don't?

people are the same all over the world. there are arrogant Poles, arrogant British, arrogant French arrogant Dutch etc etc. for what to make such stupid generalizations...

i wanted to have some contact with Polish language so i thought i could listen to some Polish music.

i found in the web radio Eska but the music there is crap. and what's interesting during 2 hours i haven't heard even one Polish sing:/ i could find some Polish songs on youtube but i wouldn't like to come up to my computer every 3 minutes.

can you suggest some good radio with Polish music?

i think you have never been to other countries. countries of Eastern Europe (Russia, Ukraine) ,Hungary and Czech Republic seem to have manyyyy more prostitutes.in Prague i saw them everywhere.

i don't know maybe it depends on the city as well but in Szczecin i saw none.
i will walk around Krakow to check it.

yes it's true. also the picth of voice, the type of voice and dialects and what is being spoken. i love watching portugese matches for example...the comments sound more exciting than brazilian films....i don't understand anything and i guess it's easier to judge a language whether it's nice to listen to it when you don't know the language. French is well-know as beautiful language but to be honest i can't judge it:D

by the way, do Poland have many dialects?

yes but still many of my PL mates found out about facebook from me ..they all are on Nasza . why is it so? it's the same with msn ,everybody has gadu gadu and hardly anyone has msn (maybe skype is a little more popular)

In not a single marriage, there is no true happiness like you can see in other nations.

It is the worst idea to marry a polish woman it seems, and I am sure that all desperate polish women, looking for marriage with a foreigner, will start to slander my experience...

i'm not Polish and i'm not even a women but it seems it's you who is more unhappy and desperate here. my Polish mates are happily married to Polish women. and i wouldn't mind marrying one too.
