Language / Osram - Misnomer that means, "to poop" in Polish? [17]
I was in my Polish "English" class today, and the Polish students were reading an article describing the importance for businesses of learning the culture of the countries to whom they export their products.
The class then laughed as the teacher mentioned something about a light bulb company called "Osram," and that it apparently means "to poop" in Polish. Thus, this particular light bulb company is not very successful in Poland.
I was wondering if this was true, and also if anyone has any more information about it?
