USA, Canada / leave Poland and come to Parma [10]

I live in an area where there are many Polish people. Polish stores, new ones opening too. When I was a child my family lived in Cleveland. The small store I go to has a young girl who speaks polish also and she says her friends send their kids to school to learn polish. I have an aunt who is taking classes to learn better polish also.

Food / What is your favourite Polish meal?! [64]

Love potato pierogi made with farmers cheese and carmelized onions, Krokiety,and cabbage rolls made with beef and pork served with mashed potatoes.

I made cream of potato and Broc. soup forxmas eve with some cheddar cheese on top, and the kids liked that. They don't like mushrooms but do like the broc. and califlower when I make it with a cream cheese sauce.

farmers cheese is used---but DRY cottage cheese can also be added to potato, and some carmelized onion......

as far as meat fillings....I have heard of taking left over raost beef, with the potato and carrots and onion.

left over ham or bacon can be added to your kraut filling also.

I have never made them but I think using ground pork that you ave cooked and added some sauted onion and mushroom and blanched cabbage would be good also...like an egg roll.
