Travel / Szczecin -> Bydgoszcz by train....is it sensible and safe? [12]

This is my first post, so forgive me if this is in the wrong section...

I've been to poland many many times in the past, but have got a quick question.

I'm going to Bydgoszcz in december, but due to some business i have to do on the way, i'm flying into szczecin and plan to get the train to overnight train to bydgoszcz..

My question is this...i've never travelled overnight in poland and i see this route is covered by Tanie Linie Kolejowe...is it safe / sensible... etc?

Any help gratefully received...

Travel / Szczecin -> Bydgoszcz by train....is it sensible and safe? [12]

Well.. i have never done that at night either... but as long as you are careful everything should be ok, I believe. Anyway, welcome to Bydgoszcz. In case you have any problems/questions while setting the trip, you PM .I can help you as I live here

Firstly, thank you to WildRover - i will defintely bear that in mind - my plans may well change now so i might not end up Szczecin after all but in Poznan! Argh...my only experience in Poznan ended up in drunken carnage so i'm not exactly relishing a night there again...

Now lena21_02 - as a bydgoszcz resident, whats your favourite bar / club ? I'm a fan of a few drinks in savoy, followed by lots more in Euphoria.... What about you ?

(i'm unable to pm you yet as i'm a new member and the site won't let me!)

Travel / Warsaw To Krakow Travel Questions [5]

The link posted above is your best bet for travel info - its only 3 hrs i think, and goes a bit quicker if you stock up with booze in the restaurant car on the way. Polish trains don't exactly gun it like British trains too...ambling along at a nice 60mph is probably the best you can hope for a lot of the time.

As for Krakow accommodation, i've been there 5 or 6 times and stayed in apartments every time. Google "Krakow apartments" and you'll find plenty of places available. Much more freedom to do it that way i reckon. Saying that, if your heart is set on a hotel, i'm sure all the big names are in the city now.
