UK, Ireland / people to answer questions about polish identity for uni work please [7]

Hi I'm an anthropology student. I am writing my third year dissertation on the polish community in sefton/liverpool/southport and would be very grateful if any Polish person or with Polish background would be willing to answer questions about integration community and identity while living in the UK. If you would like to help me, please reply to this thread and I will send you a questionnaire, thank-you for your time.

UK, Ireland / people to answer questions about polish identity for uni work please [7]

ok will post the questions.

I would be grateful if people could answer the questions. Don't worry if you can't answer them all as every little helps! I would be grateful if you could say whether you have emigrated to the UK in your lifetime or if not, how many generations of your family have lived here. Your time is appreciated!

-Were you born in Poland or England?

-If born in England, how many generations of your family have lived in England?

-If you emigrated here from Poland, what were your reasons for moving to the UK?

-How do you identify yourself, Polish, British, or dual identity? (please specify if you were born in England or Poland)?

- What does being Polish mean to you?

-While living in England, in what whys do you maintain a polish identity? (through traditions, festivals, food, ideals, dress)

- Do you feel that second and third generations of Polish people who were born in the UK have identify themselves differently from the first generation who were born in Poland but emigrated to the UK?

-Do you think Polish immigrants who do not intend to move to the UK permanently are less likely to be involved with the local community and learn English?

- For recent immigrants, are you aware of any policies or ways to encourage integration into the wider community?

-Do you think that in your area a Polish community exists?
-If yes, in what ways is this community established?

Thread attached on merging:
