How are you finding life in the UK? Do you plan to return to Poland in the near future or do you plan to stay? I know alot that are heading back but I also know a few that are considering staying permanently. One couple has just given birth here and are starting a family.

I'm just curious. Random question but also interested as to how many Poles actually DO stick it out here. If the borders remain open for non-eu countries then I welcome Poles with open arms into the UK. I would personal favour European immigration to Asian immigration as our culture is more or less the same. I go out drinking with Poles and a Czech quite regularly, really friendly people although I have met a few arrogant gits.

It's not the first time Polish people have settled here in the Uk so its nothing new.

Not at these record breaking statistics.

By the way mate, Poland is a member of the EU.

I was kind of referring to.... Asia.

I don't get what you mean. St George is England's patron Saint.

Life / Smoking ban - will this be coming to Poland like other EU countries? [183]

There was a huge public outcry from smokers when the government announced plans to ban smoking in public places completely. I support the bans but me and you both know that the government doesn't care what the British people think. I'll give you an example. EU referendum.

Turkey's continent is both Europe and Asia. I don't care for other countries. St. George is England's Patron Saint. Our flag has the cross of Saint George. I use the symbol of Saint George for Nationalistic reasons.

Not quite. He is also the Patron Saint of at least a dozen other countries too.

Ummm yes he IS the Patron Saint Of England. As I said before, I do not care for other countries. In THIS country St George is our Patron Saint. The Saint George flag is OUR flag.

Keep St George in my heart, keep me English
Keep St George in my heart, I pray
Keep St George in my heart, keep me English Keep me English to my dying day
No surrender No surrender No surrender to the IRA SCUM!

Wtf are you doing on a Polish Forum. Weird stuff.

You brought it on chick. I wasn't the one that brought up St George and denied that he was the Patron Saint *wink*

The IRA had their plans and the UDF had theirs. The IRA scum, eh, no!!

Of course they're scum. Bombing innocent people, children, babies, men and women and even the elderly. MURDERED them all for "Independence." If that isn't scum then God knows what is.

You are a disgrace as a so called English man and you show what is bad about the UK at the moment !

Disgrace? Do explain.

You're justifying killing innocent people?? The sight of maimed, blood-soaked, innocent people who were in wrong place at the wrong time. People who knew nothing about their "struggle" and were no more responsible for the situation in Northern Ireland than the man on the moon. It can NEVER be justified to kill innocent people indiscriminately no matter how noble your cause. My dad was in the light infantry in the 70s til the early 90s fighting the scum known as the IRA.

Anyone that justifies killings of innocent people are also scum. That's just as bad as justifying the concentration camps!

Finally, someone that answers my question and the exact response I wanted. There are no mistakes in what you said. Your English is spot on. Good luck with your contract. What do you want to study at college? Are you looking to get into any specific profession?

Always wanted to go on IT, but now it`s out of reach, my maths is so "low".

I did a college course in Nottingham on Joinery/Carpentry and the whole course, including exams cost me £530. That was evening courses. The price varies depending on what courses you're looking at.

Have a look at these courses, pay no attention to the price on the site though. You need to contact your college where you live for details but this could give you the options of what courses to choose.

ucas.com/students/coursesearch/coursesearch2008/

You could go to college on evenings to study maths so that you could get into your preferred profession. One thing though, you MUST be exceptional in the English language and when you go to the courses ask for as much help as you can. After all you are paying them.

You're looking for a girlfriend lol? What city do you live in? If you live anywhere near Preston I can sort something out for you *wink* If you're going to go for an English girl I'd recommend NORTHERN English girls, I love them! There's a much higher ratio of stunning English lasses up North than there are down South .

I've got a life mate and a very good one at that.
I'm 22 years old and I have a deep hatred of terrorists.

Then why don't you concentrate on the terrorists of today rather than making reference to the actions of 1689.

1689????

You only need to go back to the 90s matey! The IRA bombings in Manchester in 1996 is one example...

Now drop it...

And I'm relating to the IRA terrorists who were killing innocent people as recently as the late 90s

I cant believe your going there your just further proving the point that the english are wrong..

Justifying terrorism, justifying the killings of innocent men, women and children who had no indication of what was going off stoops just as low. By saying the IRA are not a bad organisation is a below-the-belt remark.

When you were still in white socks.

Perhaps.

What has that got to do with the IRA? I sang a song on the first page regarding the IRA therefore the topic is of the IRA. People here got offensive because of the IRA bashing song. The IRA is a terrorist organisation who killed innocent people for their political gain. Whatever opinion you have of SOME English soldiers that allegedly raped and murdered innocent women then feel free to voice your opinion and I'd no doubt agree with you. My dad certainly did not rape anyone or even murder women.

The majority of Northern Irish WANT to be British.

What do you mean "what has this got to do with the IRA" do you even know why they IRA was formed ?

I'm not talking about the history of the IRA. I'm talking of the ACTIONS of the IRA. WHY they're deemed TERRORISTS. Killing innocent people all for "Independence." Let them burn in hell ;)

Whatever man!

I don't need to learn history to distinguish who's a terrorist.

im not doubting that but dont you think the world has to wake up and ask its self why the f&ck are there terrorists and who's provoking them?

What would have been the solution to IRA terrorism? Would it be to hand Northern Ireland their Independence? Problem sorted. However we would have had a new breed. Protestants who wanted to remain part of the UK...! A no-win situation. Independence is no justification for terrorism.

and as for giving them back there independance yea it should be given back it should never have been taken away..!

Even though the majority of the people of Northern Ireland want to remain part of the UK? I'm sure we'd have had a much bigger terrorist organisation to contend with had we given Northern Ireland back.

Huh? I never said it SHOULD have been taken. I condemned the actions of the IRA. It should been dealt with POLITICALLY not through bloodshed.

Life / How much do you HATE POLISH PEOPLE and POLAND [1260]

I've met some Poles that were arseholes but I've met more decent ones than bad. I've been to football matches with some Poles. Me, my mate and 3 Poles came with us to an England Euro 2008 qualifying game against Andorra at Old Trafford. I was shocked to find that 2 of them already had an England shirt, the training one and they wore it..!

However I knew guy named Karol B. who was a weird one. When he 1st came he was very anti-English it seemed. He seemed to be very racist and quite patriotic to Poland. As months went by his attitude changed and, I swear on my mother's life I'm not bulshitting, he became anti-Polish. He had a dislike for his own people and whenever someone spoke to him in Polish he replied "I don't understand" and made them speak to him in English. When Poland played Germany in the World Cup in 2006 he wore a GERMANY shirt to **** people off. All the Poles disliked him.

I know I'm going on but he was weird but funny lol.

I've travelled matey. I've been to Turkey, they loved us. I've been to Greece, they loved us. I've been to the Canarie Islands, they liked us. I've been to Lanzarote, they liked us but too stuck up. I've been to the U.S and they absolutely loved us. I've been to Thailand, they loved us. I've been to Bulgaria and again they loved us. I've been to Crete and I made many friends there. From my experience of my travels you speak an utter load of codswollop. I love my flag and I love the union jack. IFly it with PRIDE.

Why be ashamed of your flag? It's just a bit of coloured material.
Why be proud of it too? Again, it's just a bit of coloured material.

Just a bit of coloured material? Not to the people that care about their country. It's a symbol of our country and for everything that it stands for. Which is exactly why you will be locked up in the UK for flag burning.

That's the consequence of opening the borders for all to enter. The liberal do-gooders bend over backwards to prevent offence to the foreigners. I, however, have not lost my identity. I will forever be English/British and proud of it. Most Poles I've come across have seen it in me. They know. There is no political correctness inside of me. I say how I feel. They respect my opinions. Some would call me racist for criticising government policies but the fact is that word is getting so old that I just shrug it off. I'm not one to ramble on about politics though. I tend to talk football and women!

As I said, I welcome Poles with open arms. If immigration is open to non-eu migrants then I would LOVE the Eastern Europeans to come here. In Asian dominated areas we're now starting to see white faces and that's thanks to the likes of Poles, Czechs, Estonians etc. They're infiltrating muslim-bound areas and I'm loving it!

You will come across people that may give you the impression that you're not welcome but those are the idiots. I've met some Polish that were arrogant and had the "I'm only here for the money" attitude but the majority were decent people that are willing to integrate and even LEARN our language, which gains alot of respect! I had a football match yesterday in Preston and half the team were Polish! I'd rather have Polish catholics/secularists in this country than muslims and Africans any day. Those that are moaning about the Polish and the benefits I would assume is the media. The media stirs trouble and likes to brainwash people. But again that's only the minority. I, myself, have Eastern European ancestry that moved here during the 30s/40s but which country I don't know. I don't know too much about my ancestors

P.s Another thing, my mum wanted a new bathroom fitted. She rang some English firm and they were charging £300 to fit a bath! She saw a Pole advertisement so she rang him and he charged just £500 to do the WHOLE bathroom. The Polish guy goes to work during the day and after he finishes work he goes round to my parents house and fits the bathroom. My parents say he's "a really lovely guy." My parents feed him meals. He spends AGES fitting the bathroom on his own everynight after work. Not only are the Polish hard working but they're CHEAPER.

There havent actually been that many deaths on the mainland.

Why? Because they're terrorists. The bomb that went off in Manchester injured 200 people and some were seriously injured. They also killed 9 people in a shopping area in Belfast. They killed 21 people at a pub in Birmingham. What about the Omagh bombings that killed 28? They're terrorists and nothing else.
