Genealogy / Simborowski - Polish? [6]
It most certainly is a Polish name - my father was born in Warsaw and was most definitely Polish and proud of it! It is not an incorrect spelling as one correspondent suggests. Some of our family have the name Szymborski so it seems to be a 'Russianized' version of that name. It is not common - I have never encountered anyone else with it except members of our own family though there are some famous people called Szymborski (notably Wyslawa Szymborska - and she is not related to us as far as I know).
