I dont think they need worry about communism

Worry is not the word I would think of. Maybe more like, be careful. I think Pres. Putin's behavior has alot of country's questioning motives. Putin used to be able to glorify Stalin without reaction from the outside. This has changed and many question his lack of feelings for the ones hurt by Stalin.

History / Poland Betrayed in WW2 [243]

Poland and US had no treadty before WW2

If I recall USA wanted to help Poland, Churchill was the one to finally say, something to the effect I'm not going to upset "Uncle Joe" anymore. This was in 44 when USA wanted to use airfield in Russia to help Poland. Now if Churchill is telling USA they are out of it,this leaves USA, who also stopped trying to talk Stalin into landing there. Instead they dropped a few bombs.

Did the US sell Poland?

USA did not gain anything by Stalins actions that I am aware of.

holocaust denials ok

1/2 has been, Holocaust people say it Jewish victims, they forget the other half. I hate the word, "Holocaust" because it has always ignored the real victims, "Polish".

drying out in Gdansk.

Good for him. I truly like him and his not backing down to Putin, it was what Poland needed to show they are independent. I hope he gets well fast.

"the allies sold Poland in 1939"

It was more towards the end of the war that Poland was taken over by Stalin. Yes, it would have been nice if Britian showed up in 39 like they said they would but this was decided before Poland was invaded. Maybe just there declairing of war on Germany did something. It was after Italy 1944, that Poland could have been restored. This is interesting in Churchill's notes (see above) sorry it took up so much room.

because you are nothing to the proud Polish people that I am privileged to know.

I just felt I had to say something to this remark. Being in Poland does not make you more Polish. It does not make the ones exiled, less Polish. We could say we lost a country and paid the highest price. Why divide your blood the way Russia was able to do. If I were in Poland I would want to know about the 40% that died or were exiled. After the takeover it was a death sentence to return to Poland if you served in the military, enimies of the state, Communist Poland. Are you aware the exiles were mostly military and their family that fought for Poland?

History / Poland - Russia Russians ready for discussion about history ? [105]

thank you all for warm company

Have a good weekend.

DISCUSSION TECHNIQUE

A woman has the last word in any argument.
Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a
new argument.

Under The Needle: They who should not be forgotten
A Pole who survived Soviet slavery and World War II and reached America wants his people to be remembered

"I told you the story is a long one. One that people should not forget."

Stalin has been a Russian icon for years can you please explain why there is a city called Volgagrad?

I understood it was Pres. Putin that decided to bring back Stalin as a great military hero. Thanks for pointing out your point, it went right over my head.

Carol,if you really think Stalin

Silly me I looked for it. LOL I didn't think there was a need to lie.

it is on the grass patch nearby

I think you a just do not know, that there is a monument in the center of Moscow, just infront of KGB building, the monument ad honorem of all who had los their lives in Stalin's camps. Did you know this? I think no! Moreover, it stands on the place of the previous Dzerzhinsky's monument.

I am glad some find this fun.

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

Westerners get sick only thinking about that.

Not terror but an air of I am Russia and this gives me a right to treat others as less than us.

If your press will stop to yap on Russia, our relations will be very nice

This is no longer an option, as you can see, yapping on Russia is coming from Poles in the other nations, demanding respect for Poland and her children from countries Stalin sent them to.

Respect means, accountability, responsability for past abuse of of Polish family's on the orders of Stalin.
