Life / Puertorican says GOOD-BYE to Poland forever [104]

well look, im not saying you dont ave a right to be upset at not being able to afford a house, as ive said neither can i or many irish youths! but its not all down to foreign investors. there are many factors involved.

I just don't believe saying GO HOME 'insert nationality here' is appropriate OR solve anything.
Its your government (and mine) that needs to be harassed in order to provide the change you and i want. I dont think its right to be so aggressive to another race at all for it.

but im glad to hear. your not a racist - i would hope you'd be willing to join me in a great big hug if i decide to buy a home in poland and we can do the same when you get a home too (whenever it will be for either of us - but id wager, it will happen some day :) )

love!

Language / Do Poles get confused over the different word endings? [40]

well i won't speak for the US or GB but the majority of people I know would have a much higher standard of spoken English than is given credit for here.

I am from Cork, Ireland. Lived in GB and must say that its down to social class moreso than native speakers in general. There are just a proportion of loud ignorant people that give this impression with a larger, softer spoken society.

my two cents.

AND both BENEFITTED due to EU membership

Czech Republic joined EU less than 3 years ago...

Both still benefitted, i dont here you denying this :)

And would lo0se respect for you if you tried! we both agree its better to be IN the EU than OUT.

You voted because you were brain wasted by the propaganda which was so intense during this time, and what were you promised, Milk and Honey??, and what have you go now..nothing apart from debts and divisions in the community. The milk has turned sour and honey has gone to GB to marry some wealthy englishman.

how would poland benefit outside the EU?

what alternative would there be for poland? how would it be any different or better?

Not really much. Czechs are already ahead of them.

where's your figures and sources backing that up?

Global Competitiveness Report for 2005, published by the World Economic Forum, places Portugal on the 22nd position, ahead of countries like Spain, Ireland, France, Belgium and Hong Kong. This table shows that Portugal has stepped two places regarding the 2004 ranking. On the Technology index, Portugal was ranked 20th and on the Public Institutions index Portugal is the 15th best.

Global Competitiveness Report 2006: Rank Czech 29th out of 125 countries

So what you talking about mo?

weforum.org/en/initiatives/gcp/Global%20Competitiveness%20Report/index .htm

-edit-
needless to say portugal & czech are close in the table of 125 AND both BENEFITTED due to EU membership

Czech still is notorious for corruption BUT noted as one of the most successful former communistic states

Poland will benefit more being in the eu than outside.

your ppost 192 is horseradish! portugal is far better off then poland and so is ireland! that is down to being a member of the EU. Poland will benefit more being in the eu than outside. that is a fact provided for you. Various facts provided by me are littered throughout the forum so :) to you too :) your 'facts' attract as much attention as mine do to you. so go figure.

i think that's the same for all people's in fairness. Why would you stay on the titantic if you could use a lifeboat???

the point remains the EU is the best institution to date (i would argree history to date in fact!)

nothing better has existed yet! but the EU has been a big step in the right direction wouldnt you agree?

sure it has flaws - but less flaws than any previous system to date!!! we go on about the rich getting richer like this was a new phenonemon! its been throughout history! BUT the difference today is, we are now free to make our own riches if we can (a thing we did not even have ANY chance of doing not so long ago! (ireland 1900's, poland? slavery etc.)

change for the better, step by step

Don't take my comments about the 1989 "revolution" as an anti-EU statement.

i havent! i believe you to be PRO EU - which is why i said we agree :)

Life / Polish denial of reality - is it a national trade? [117]

HAHA!! oooooo i can see frenchforums, italianforums and spanishforums converge on BWoo's house!

cheeky chap!

on a serious note. Poland's infrastructure has undeniably benefited from EU funding and will continue to do until it is of a standard the same across the EU.

This is so cool!!!! Ireland loved it and benefitted!!! we could use a little more cheer and optimism!!! this is great for poland and the EU!!

if you cant go to the kitchen, turn on the tap and run yourself a glass of clean drinking water then you are not in a first world country

erm, france, spain, italy. All recommend you dont drink there tap water..... maybe we could use a different standard :)

Life / Polish denial of reality - is it a national trade? [117]

try to show Poland as a third world country

i see poland as a country where it seems only the polish cannot see the strength and oppurtunity it has! everytime im over there its better each time!

and poland WAS classified as a second world status in the 1990's but thats all changed and Poland is on course to become one of the LARGEST and STRONGEST economies in the EU

which i look forward too :)

They wanted to free themselves from Soviet influence

and replace it with??? (dignity is not a form of government)

Poland Democratically elected to join the EU? Did they not know what they wanted or something? Poland is benefitting more from being IN the EU than it ever could being apart of a smaller slavic union(which wouldnt happen as other 'slavic' countries are EU members too) (sorry crow)

Being IN the EU gives poland that ability to gain its dignity. Once Poland's infrastructure is in Place, Poland will be amoungst the biggest contributors of this Union. (Ireland is a VERY small nation, yet we have HUGE influence despite our size. If we NEVER joined the Union, we would not be a blip on the radar and Would not have what we have today without EU help. It gave reland its dignity and much, much more.
