I'm not quite sure but according to my best knowledge "Lvivske" belongs
to the Russian "Baltika" which is a part of Carlsberg group.
But in Ukrainian net they use to say "Lvivske" is Carlsberg.
Complicated.
BTW. Even the question what will be Carlsbergs's position on this ad comes from some Ukrainian article.

Ukrainian Carlsberg's subsidiary Livivske Pivo used for its TV ads story of Ukrainian rebel Maksim Zeleznyak responsible for mass slaughter, so called Massacre of Uman (Human) with more than 20000 Polish, Jewish and ... Ukrainian victims.
The TV story goes like that:
after having some Lvivske Beer Zeleznyak and his boys started mass killings which looked rather like a funny carnival of Human.
Finally they they hung side by side a Pole, a Jew, and a dog, and wrote over them: "Pole, Jew , and dog are all of one faith."
I'm far from accusing Ukrainians of some forgotten Cossacks' crimes - Polish troops were not better starting with a nice custom of impaling the rebels.
The only questions I have are:

"Farewell of Slavianka" is a Russian march composed by Vasily Agapkin just before ww1.
Melody and very patriotic or rather nationalistic lyrics became an unofficial anthem of Kolchak's White Army.
Even Soviets decided to use the composition for propaganda 1941 (having on the beginning some problems with its "czarist" roots).
As far everything easy to understand.

One cannot get rid of hundreds years being linked part to the East part to the West within 20 years.
Secondly, your impressions are probably kinda superficial - don't get me wrong, it's not I'm saying Poland is perfect.
But sometimes people tend to understand economic misery like being "Eastern" (actually what's wrong about that ?).
Then, if you consider remains of communism like corruption, bureaucracy, lack of clean toilets to be Eastern i have to agree.
I know all ex-commie countries.
Believe me, all of us got similar problems.

In case of Sapieha's victory we would have been more successful (as the nation) and you Russians by far more civilized .

It used to be number four or five worldwide.
But even without good position in those economical rankings you were able to produce high tech weapon on your own.
Today even India got problems with your military exports.
Not to mention the disastrous Bulava case.
So don't be afraid about Poland - we are your friends anyway.
We are not going to attack you like we used before.

Then, it would be quite an easy question given more or less normal conditions - the only historically justified position of Poland is becoming again the Western part of Russia.
Unfortunately enough I have serious doubts about future of our Slavic brothers.
Galloping decomposition of the Russian economy will be soon an accomplished process with some political disaster to follow.
Frankly I'm not sure Russia will be able to survive longer than 3 ... 5 years.
Just look at the main macroeconomic indexes :
GNP minus 10%, inflation rate plus 10%, planned budget deficit 2010 - 10%.
And all that facing the growing oil prices!

True but it hardly matters.
There is no need for any referendum and due to purely demographic reasons support for NATO is growing.
I spoke to many young Ukrainians and majority of them were for NATO.
After Bukarest NATO meeting Germany is considered to be the main Russian ally in this case.
Of course we don't know the details.
Poland even didn't give any answer for the Russian offer.
Nobody can be happy having potential Czarnobyl just close to the border.
And in Ukraine the polls show that a majority is AGAINST a membership in the Nato.
True but it hardly matters.

Making some general European energy deal with Russia would be of adventage for the EU.
Such a big deal includes better pricing, better terms of payment more stability for all.
Using a peak oil phantom Kremlin gains political points in case Georgia, Ukraine, NATO enlargement etc.etc.
And again - there is no need for that.
Take it for granted Russia had to sell raw materials in order to keep its business running.
Last but not least Baltic see.

I think the idea of Yugoslavia was great.
Many post ww2 years Yugoslavia made a perfect picture of some successful pan-Slavic state but then came the destruction.
I don't try to make some conspiracy theories but at least Kosove separatism enjoyed the all possible support from the EU and NATO.
