USA, Canada / The 2nd Amendment (USA), the right to own guns [261]

My question is, how do you feel about it???

no I dont, after one was held to my head, and it was supposed to be for hunting
and I watched my life pass before me over and over till he fell asleep..

to many people abuse.. its not worth the fight.. not to me.

I do not think they are debatable for the people who found jobs and enjoyed the benefits of economic growth.

agree, we had a hard time for a while.. this was our comeback. something had to
be done.

Whatever English or Americans did,Poland would fall in soviet hands. There was no way to avoid it.

I am still in agreement..

Life / Why are Polish people cheap? [126]

im suprised you would say such a thing about tj/tk maxx

I said I wasnt impressed, the clothes were not bad, I just didnt like what I saw..
I am more of Kohls, vanity, aeropostale shopper. and I find bargains there all the
time.

just certain stores you find more of what you like.. has nothing to do with
cheap. its more of preference.

and if its a bargain, and not to my liking and Im not going to wear it, why buy it just
because its a few dollars less when I can save for something I will really wear and
is what I like.. not a impulsive shopper.

why could Poland not be also.

you are right, they should have, we cant change the past now though, we cant
take it back, its done, the wall was taken down..

If you know the man is a monster

well we dont know, we dont know what they were thinking back then
and can only go by what is told.. stalin was a monster, but at the time we all
fought to stop hitler.. die or live under commie rule. well guess I will live under
commie rule.. stalin was greedy but hitler was deadly..

You wont buy sth because it's marked down in price?

I said cheap.. I can tell whats cheap and poorly made.. I never said I wouldnt save a
few bucks and everyone does it.. you would be stupid not to..

Life / Why are Polish people cheap? [126]

wholeheartedly agree that people should live within their means

key word here :) People.. anyone can be careless and not know what they get their
selfs into.. so its people in general..

and just for the record, I dont care for TJ Max.. I wasnt impressed at all..
and I dont buy cheap because if I did, I would be sacraficing my familys well being
and thats not worth it.

so I think when someone sterotypes a certain group of people for trying to save
a few extra dollars. when everyone does it.. deserves whats coming to him.. and
hopefully when hes sitting in the gutter wondering what went wrong he will then
realize how sad and selfish his statements are.

Love / Polish Girlfriend, but she is not single ... [35]

they are indulging their own impulses, no matter who they might hurt.

I agree with this.. Same thing happened to me with my ex BF who was always
accusing me, yet he was the one gone all the time..while I took care of his kids.

thank god I left that situation.

History / Poland Betrayed in WW2 [243]

by 1940's the US and the English had few reasons to believe in Stalin's goodness of heart.

and of course stalin didnt honor his part of
the bargain. [/quote]

when you say you know someone, do you really know them? have you ever
experienced deciet by one of your best friends? all they could do was trust that
stalin would hold up to his end..yet
stalin was not our best friend.. he wasnt anyone's best friend.. but you give someone
a inch they take a mile.. it does make more sense to have someone who lives in
a neighboring country to run their govt VS across seas.. and also conflict of interest
where other countries are concerned.. why would we keep poland to begin with?

its funny how much flack you get when you dont do something and when you do
something, you still get the flack.. never a winning situation either way..

Life / Why are Polish people cheap? [126]

i have though of this indepth and here is me analogy:-

ok noimmigration, you can stop hiding behind another fake name and come out from
hiding..

it baffles me how people can live their lives so bitter and hateful. in the end they
will suffer, because we all know in our lives, whatever we do bad always comes
back to us if we arent careful....

I prefer to stay in the good zone.. being selfish and self centered isnt my style and
im Polish American, and I know people can be idiots, but I never thought that a grown
man would be so childish, its really incredible and amazing, my children give more
back to society then some of these clowns in here that complain oh poor me , please
stop coming and taking away our stuff.. but its your own fault you dont come to terms
with life and how it works...

get out of the 900 A.D. Century for gods sake, its 2008 people move all the time
and they are going to keep moving, its a rule of life, you need to get over it already
and start moving on with your life, instead of wallowing in your selfish tears....

people understand that things are tough, but its like a broken record and nothing
gets done if you dont approach the govt yourself.. you do have local govts right??
you can talk to certain people. find a solution instead of crying that its all yours
and no one else deserves to better themselfs.. its sickening...

roosevelt didn't give up on PL? give us to the commies? are you shitting me?

i didnt say that.. I said we didnt sell poland, he might have feked up and gave poland
to someone ( not fully realizing what was about to happen) or maybe he did
who knows. I dont believe the selling part ..

if they mean sell out in a different sense .. but thats not how I took it.

ok guys, I read the Yalta conference, where roosevelt and churchill wanted democratic
govt and stalin wanted soviet rule.. and of course stalin didnt honor his part of
the bargain. thats also on WIKI..

Life / Redheads in Poland - How many? [95]

I like wildlife and I mourn the loss of the red squirrel in this part of the world.

we saved a family of babie squirrels this summer.. one was screamin from the neighbors
dog.. momma must have been hit by a car or died somewhere, these babies didnt even
have their eyes open.. they were so cute too.. we named them and everything.

If the allies did not sell Poland then Poland might not have been under the majestic and live-giving rays of the sun named Stalin.

America didnt sell Poland...I cant believe anyone would believe that under all
the circumstances we ended up there to help. and we bombed out germany too
did we sell them to stalin?

France was in some trouble, did the US come along and sell them too?

History / THE POLES ON THE FRONT LINES OF WWII [92]

War crimes were commited by all sides, blah, blah, blah

I took care of a patient today whos grandparents were walked naked to their deaths.

his mother watched her parents go to their deaths.. one of his friends said
wow,, I didnt know you were jewish...

he said,, IM not jewish. my whole familys polish, from warsaw area.

The sad part about this true story is,, they were naked,, what kind of war is that?
they werent using guns, nor ever had any,, they couldnt fight, they had not a chance
in the world to live even,, the choice to live or die was made by someone else.
and a small child had to watch helpless.

this is not a sterotype. its a reminder, that we all should be glad we are alive.
and that NO wars are good wars.., not yesterdays, not todays..

History / Poland Betrayed in WW2 [243]

So lets not teach history in school because it might antagonize people

you have a point matt. Crow and I were discussing in another thread about
Ancient history, really, everyones version is going to be different.. its how
they seen it at the time..

you know history has to be discussed.. its going to be wether we want to or not
people want to know. or at least get somewhat of a better picture..

I understand what bubba is saying when he speaks about sterotypes..
because its the same with other nationalities that dwell in the past. to which
I wont mention ( thats a whole nother issue) but at the same time, its hard to not
discuss it, people keep saying we did this, you did this, and they did that..

but, this was much worse then anything weve ever experienced in our civilized
world as we know it.. people say get over it, but thats not reaching into the compassionite side of yourself.. and saying, well, I have to just let this go.

yes, we are in a war right now, but, its nothing like what happened then, and
war is horrible in any way you look at it, now and then..

there is now sterotypes against Americans, even though some know us very
well. our country is still the BAD GUY and I am sure it creates Problems NOW>
what can we do about it?? well. lets see, how about we try to understand better
each others countries for one.. try to come together on a certain level, instead of
heated battles..

theres never going to be happy medium until we all find a way to agree on history
and the present.. we cant all see it one way.

Bubba, you came to America.. did you see anything that would make you think
we are heathens?
we are sterotyped by all of the world for our war on terror..

USA, Canada / Polish, American, Polish-American - what am I to you? [34]

Do the math

dont let the troll bother ya.. its ok to say this because we all come from different
regions of the planet, and then our families mix and so people with larger IQ's
would know this and you wouldnt have to explain yourself..

you know what they say about small IQ"S and small Richards... eventually
it learns to grow :)) lmao...

I would say your leaning more to Polish American..

Genealogy / how many know their own family histories? [139]

That's our story in a nutshell. :]

its very interesting, The one thing to do is document what you know now..

I can tell you from experience, you remember it now, but it does fade..
I used to have all the names of my grandmothers family in my head, and
I couldnt tell you now because I became uninterested for a short time.. but
its easy to do that.. this is a hard project.. you really have to be dedicated and
have alot of time to get somewhere fast with it..

History / Poland-Russia: never-ending story? [1341]

He did after all order the deaths of more soviet citizins than adolf ever did.....

yeah, he was so great.. least the pope didnt kill his own countrymen..

why you admire him so much? what great things did the nimwit do for you?
I bet if it was one of your great grandparents or grand parents whom he killed
you would be singing a different tune. we all know we cant change the past. we
should move on from the past,, but we also need to come to our sense's with
the past and by that I say, realize the differences and not say stupid things just
because this man ran your country for a while. they already did damage to the
countrys reputations, why would you want to stick up for a man who clearly
was a coward..

just like certain presidents of the states and other countries.. Im not going to
raise them up on a pedistal when I know they have done wrong.. thats giving all
of what I believe in away in the name of lies.. and I wont fall into that catagory..

I feel so sorry that you did..

this post was meant for constatinek

USA, Canada / Cleveland couple and expired visa [15]

It's not like they're going to prison or to hell, they will just have to do some adjustments in their lives.

I hear ya, its not that part that makes you wonder, its the govt and how they
dictate who can and who cant.. these people were upstanding citizens, to where
that other idiot killed three kids exacution style..

the situation makes you wonder!!! and I realize Poland isnt a bad place, it wasnt that
it was the fact that they wanted to stay here, they were established. can you imagine
being uprooted like that? just drop everything your getting deported!!!

they allow criminals to run free, yet a family is uprooted and sent back.
makes a whole lot of sense ( NOT ).

I know we cant control everything, I do believe this is something they could have
taken into consideration and the facts speak for themselfs.. and how can you
establish friendly relations with other countries when those attending to these
situations are not doing their jobs!! then when they do their jobs, they are screwing
up.. whos sleeping in the immigrations dept?? WTF??

Poland did right by them.. our country screwed them. I am so disgusted..

USA, Canada / Cleveland couple and expired visa [15]

I can't find anything since. It's an interesting story. Sad too.

you know what really sucks about this story compared to others?

the fact that recently, I even described it in a post about a man who was mexican
came over and killed three kids , then we had the other guy who killed
all those college kids. and a dedicated family of Polish who are willing to do anything
it takes to stay in the states and be productive citizens are getting shafted!!

HOW stupid is that?? its absurd, its retarded, the list goes on...

if our govt officials in the immigration dept let them go back or make them go back
it will show how much of hypokrites they are, because we all know they can bend
the rules , they make them!!!!

and what really gets me is they arent doing their real job by keeping those other
citizens safe, not going after these other immigrants who come here and kill people
and themselfs or are caught and whats the worse that can happen? what kind
of jail time do they get?

its really disgusting.. I think that there should be a screening process ( yes)
because its needed for terrorists reasons.. and so people should not bellyache
if the rules are somewhat strict, but I also believe options should be given ( better
options) to these peaceful countries..

Oh, as all women you preffer to mingle your own attitude with real facts, sorry.

its the facts the brought forth my attitude.. sorry, I have better definitions of great
men, and he isnt included in any of it.

Neither country had any reasons to declare war on Poland..

its like when a very large person, decides to kick someone's arse, but he looks like
a fool because everyone knows the power behind larger people. but the advantage
of the smaller guy could be many things,, smart, cunning, and swift . Ability to fight
back, which I think was unexpected. but non the less they fought.. and they fought
hard and great!!

I mean having sex with a virgin (without a condom) will cure the infected man.

so all the popes teaching fell on deaf ears anyway. hes not to blame, what were
they doing before he came to see them? same things.

patryjca I totally agree with what your saying. im even surprised I had argue with some people about something so simple to understand.

well sometimes we try to argue a point and both can have points but I see where
your coming from...

what bubbas point is, that you can still get aides married or not, because sometimes
the partener your with may not be quite as honest with his/her past relationships
and so therefore the risk is higher.. and also some are drug users, thats a high
risk right there .. most drug users contract aides from needles that were dirty ...
and your partener can also cheat.. but no one can predict that , you have to hope
that you will be safe with each other. but thats not always the case when temptation
knocks around every corner..

its a choice though, even in marriage, thats a choice we make, whom our partner
is, what we will practice as young teens to adults.. what beliefs we have, morals etc
