Life / Are Polish People Racist? [1037]

If you want the best for Poland you must be critical, it dosn't mean your anti polish, quite the reverse, sorry

i agree.i never said that poland is an idle place to live in but it is not the 3world country as you said in a few ocassions.there is still corruption, spending public money on private things, bad politics and even drunks :)there in poland btu not to degree you have said it is.that's all.

From my experience, I have never come across any racism in poland, however don't forget there arn't too many foreigners living pernamently in poland as in GB ,US0 US or Aust.

i am a very good example:)

Travel / pickpockets or gangsters in poland? [49]

Quoting: Guess, Post #19
"Ultra-catholic" -- sounds like an oxymoron....

Well, the same people in France call this "youghts" - "victims" and a "normal situation"

as you can see on 2 first pictures a group of blacks and arabs is kicking some poor white men.obviously it must have been the white men who attacked this innocent young people ,cos they are not racist-it is impossible isn't it?

Real Estate / Poland Property...should I be scared [127]

this is purely an inocent question with no hidden agenda

is it that important?some people will stay some people will go back.i can say for myself but not for others.what i know is that not everyone who come over here will stay but how many will go back?who knows.

it is like asking how many english people who work and live in poland will go back to the uk or stay in poland.nobody can answer.

I honestly don't understand what's wrong with black word.

i am not sure if you noticed or not but my comments was a bit sarcastic.i just laugh at all this morons saying that words black brown ect should be banned cos they sound racist. i can understand that when someone says"fucking nigger" it may be offensive but something like "black music"?it is ridiculus!black people have are BLACK nobody can deny it!

what should i call them afro-something?or maybe people-of-the-different-colour-you -know-which?
some people try to teach us how not to be racist but they can't see anything wrong with saying pieprzone polaczki(fucking pollocks) just because they disagree with one person

there is a lot to be taken from the eu.it is only up to us if we'll use.look at an example of previously poor countries like ireland or spain.on the other hand there is greece the most laid-back country in the eu which did nothing to improve their situation for the last 20 years

also, polish people pumping money back into the system dosn't help the average person living in Poland, quite the reverse, it causes a divisions between the haves and the haves not and in effect causes a class struggle

there always are people who struggle for various reasons:some because of lets say bad luck but others cos they are lazy, drunks, losers ect. if i give away my money and go back to poland with nothing it won't help them either but if i came back with money and pumped them to the system it would have made their situation better

I just feel that capitalism (american style) is no better than the communist system, at least under communism people had a job and had some income support, but under capitalism, who cares if you can speak your mind if you haven't a job etc

come on lef you do not know what you are talking about.my dad was a supervisor/manager in so called PGR-fish farm.he used to get same money as lets say a cleaner-was it fair for someone with masters degree and a great responsibility?

with 4 children we were strugling to survive.i couldn't get anything:new clothes, toys, htere was nothing in shops absolutely nothing.the life was dull, very dull but now something has changed.we have OPPORTUNITY.it's only up to us if we want to take it

Firstly Poland gve you the education, you have a obligation to return something in return.

i will.i am going back to poland next year.

you are saying it from the position of a man with a full belly.you live in the rich country where you do not need to think about how to make ends meet.saying that you not only offend the poles living abroad but others like irish , italians, germans, chinese ect who for centuries travelled all over the the world to change their fortunes.i can't see anything wrong with that.some people lets say in poland have their goals like lets say they want their children to be well educated or they want to move to a bigger house or like the atmosphere of certain country or want to try something else or.............there are plenty of reasons to leave your country lef.poland will survive i am sure of that.we may get some labour from countries like belarus or ukraine who are paid much less in their countries than in poland.after a few years abroad the poles WILL start coming back with their buckets of dollars-why do you think is something bad?anyway poles sent 4billion pounds to poland over the past 2 years and there is much more to come.

btw.are you originally from australia or your parents came over there from a different country?
and another question:if you think that poland is such a bad country to live in,there are so many drunks there, thieves, corruption and we have nothing to show off why do you come to our country overe and over again?

simple answer please

I'm in my 30's, have financial commitments but intend to do a HND in Business and Administration this Sept....age is not a barrier, my brother and his wife are both doing their PHD's have a couple of children and both work full time...it is possible. I do understand your frustration at having the qualifications you have and not being able to get the jobs you have studied for...surely there must be a way of converting them in a shorter peroid of time that it would take to do it from scratch?

yes you are right shelley but within a year(with my qualifications) i will have a great chance of getting a well paid job in poland.as i said i haven't got the time to start again:)

I was shocked to see that some clubs in Poland call hip-hop "black music". My GF has a cd also labeled that

jesus christ what a racist word!!!
i think that words :black, brown and yellow should be wiped out from our dictionaries:)

Life / Why do Poles drink so much? [161]

from my observations it is pretty bad in poland....

well it comes from that, that a lot of people ,lets say, australians think that getting drunk on vodka is worse than getting drunk on beer so if i drunk half a botle of vodka i would be called a drunkard. if you drunk 6 beers you would say thats nothing-it,s just a few beers with the dinner.

also have you noticed almost everone smokes in poland whereas in western countries the smoking population is decreasing.

that is absoutely not true at least from the place i live.a lot of british(lots of them under the age of 15) DO smoke and i can't see much difference between poland and england

ok lef.read it again.wujeks data do not include people under 15.what i see here in the uk is that a lot of people under that age get drunk on regular basis.this is a massive problem here and BRITS do NOT deny it.i am sure that BINGE drinking is a huge problem in australia too and it is not because of foreigners

Life / Why do Poles drink so much? [161]

Can I ask one questions and I am the first person to enjoy a cold beer, why do poles drink so much?? and enjoy "getting stuck in the grog"

AGE IS A FACTOR IN BINGE DRINKING

hi lef again.i have something for you to read about.australians are writing about other australians.have fun:)

04 February 2002

Australia is a nation of binge drinkers, with hazardous drinking particularly common in young adults.

Researchers found that more than two-thirds (67 per cent) of alcohol consumed is drunk in a way that is dangerous to health - through heavy binges or by drinking more than 5 days a week.

But hazardous drinking was particularly common in the 18-24 years age group. Drinking that would cause acute or chronic health problems accounted for 93 per cent of all alcohol drunk by men in that age group, and for 82 per cent of young women.

By comparison, 41 per cent of alcohol consumed by those aged 65 or over would cause acute or chronic health problems, the researchers wrote in the Medical Journal of Australia (2002;176:91-92).

Lead author and director of Perth's National Drug Research Institute Professor Tim Stockwell said that contrary to previous beliefs, this research showed that high-risk drinking was extremely common and involved more than just a small number of problem drinkers.

AGE IS A FACTOR IN BINGE DRINKING .

i forgot to mention that this is from australian website:)

Real Estate / Poland Property...should I be scared [127]

And this won`t hapen here.

i am sure it won't:)

but with the number of frankly quite stupid and racist remarks that have been made

there were many posts sent on this forum about the Polish people which contained some remarks which could be called "racist" according to you.

examples?
poles are drunkards,cheats,two-faced+things like"every house should have a pole by..." and even you indicate that Poles are too stupid to do something else than "shit jobs that nobody else want to do" even though a lot of people who come to the UK are highly skilled and well educated. you haven't mentioned any of this because we are white so obviously saying this is not racist. i think you are a big 2-faced,politicly correct as.hole who was brought in a posh family and has too much time on your hands

Law / Polish companies *think* they are smart... [29]

what i mean lef is that any time someone says negative about poland you pick it up and blow it to a supersize BS.
hanke says: a few companies cheat but he still cooperates with other POLISH companies who don't cheat and that is the right attitude-assholes will close their companies very soon

Then you say that cheating is normal attitude of an average Pole.how do you now that?
did you do some research?how many polish people do you now and what kind of people do you know?
i am not saying that this is the right thing to do but
you can come across different prices of goods and services for tourists and locals in many developing countries including russia(when you buy a train ticket they ask you to show tour passport). why are they different? cos locals could never afford paying a normal price for goods(like in cuba-they have different currency for tourists and locals).on the other hand a bit higher price is not going to ruin their budgets and everything is still cheaper than in their countries.

why is it not like that in countries like lets say norway?-cos services and goods are already very expensive

Life / Why do Poles drink so much? [161]

lef i dont know when yuo were last time in poland but after reading a few of your posts i think you are talking BS.you said you have made a lot of friends in poland but i just wonder what kind of friends they are. they must be losers,moaners,arse-lickers spitting at their own country unable to do anything with their lifes.this is probably why they drink too much(do you drink with them?).POLES do NOT drink much compared to other western-type countries.lets take enghland.when you walk downtown on friday night you see hundreds drunk people often fighting and smashing things-i don't belive that austraLIA is any BETTER.the only difference is that we get drunk on vodka, you on whiskey or bourbon or alcoholic drinks.

there is a problem with our health care system-but others have it too including such a rich country like the UK. they have not enough:nurses, docs, beds in hospitals, hospitals and hygene in hospitals is not up to standards(MRSA bug)

the cost of drink has gone down;0.5 bottle of vodka used to cost 20-22zl now you can get it for as little us 13zl

beer-2-3zl now 1,5zl in supermarket
home made brew used to be popular now it is easier to pop in to the local shop/supermarket-of course there are some people who do it but not so many like 10 years ago.it is strange that your friends don't understund your sarcastic tone when you talk

about poland and poles or maybe they join the choir?
make some new friends who are well off(there are many of them in poland)
don't moan too much, drink less than average,post-communist pole

Law / Polish companies *think* they are smart... [29]

Poland has two set of prices

it is not POLAND lef but SOME polish companies as hanke said.do NOT generalise please

Poles have been brought up in this mentality ie motels charged one price for a polish national and one for a tourist.

if a foreigner ran out of petrol in australia and asked you to sell him some i am sure you would charge him twice it cost at the petrol station.it is a human nature-sad but true.i am sure it is going on in EVERY country
