News / Poland in coming 5 years [48]

I'm afraid Poland will have a massive hangover after lost organisation of Euro 2012. There will be accusations from each side, but of course no-one would admit the guilt.

Law / Building a still in poland [19]

I'm afraid you can't legally produce your moonshine in Poland:
Sąd (Najwyższy) orzekł, iz: "Znamiona przestępstwa z art. 12a ust.1 ustawy z dnia 2 marca 2001 roku o wyrobie alkoholu etylowego oraz wytwarzaniu wyrobów tytoniowych wypełnia również wyrabianie alkoholu etylowego na własny użytek."

I can't translate it literally, but The Supreme Court stated that producing ethyl alcohol (apparently your booze is considered as ~40% ethanol) even for your own needs has got indications of a crime.

Edit:
Some people however make their own liquor, but don't boast about it :) You can even legally buy a still.

UK, Ireland / Polish people in UK not reporting crime. [26]

who cares if crimes are committed against poles.

Well, with such mediocre ''lawyers'' there's small wonder that this country is going to dogs. Law is law and should be obeyed. You represent views characteristic for medieval centuries - often there were different laws for 'locals' and quite different for 'strangers'. Since Poles pay taxes, they should be protected too. And what if a crime would be committed against you and the only witness would be someone Polish ? I bet you would 'forget' about your whole polonophobia then.

Life / Why are Polish people cheap? [126]

i guess that comes with a certain amount of inbreeding

Sometimes I stroll along Glasgow clean, smooth walkways and I see only perfect, angel-like citizens of The Real Utopia on Earth.

News / Leader Of Poland? [18]

Perhaps it is I.

I don't mind. You seem to have more common donkey sense than the whole bunch of 'em.

Ok, ok, don't get too excited:
One of them is our dear prezio. Dont ask me which one, only their mum can tell who is who (she knows it, because one of them used to use her bank account, I don't know if he still does):

Here goes Tusk von Danzig: And last, but probably the most important, Ojciec Dyrektor radia co ma ryja:

News / Leader Of Poland? [18]

So, if I landed my spaceship in Poland and said in a metallic tone of voice 'Take me to your leader', to whom would I be taken?
'Here is the duck pond.'

Prezio Kaczynski ? Donald Tusk ? Father Rydzyk perhaps ? I have been so long outside Poland I'm not sure who's the true leader.

Life / POSITIVES ABOUT POLAND AND POLISH PEOPLE.... [119]

Poland rocks vs Poland sucks:

We still win.
But I wouldn't expect that:
Scotland rocks: 219,000 results
Scotland sucks: staggering 416,000 results. Should be slightly in favour of Scotland rocks :P

News / The most useless things in Poland [140]

I would say that the most useless in Poland are Polish boys X ))

Well, since you Polish girls have such an undeserved opinion about me, I moved to the UK.
Back to the thread: Governments, regardless of their political orientation.

Love / Polish Girlfriend obsessive and not trusting [59]

I though all you Poles were supposed to be good Christians and Christians do not believe in such things as divorce and the accumulation of wealth.

Since you think with stereotypes, you 'though' wrong.

Life / Opinions/experience about the Polish Police [40]

what is the nickname for the police in Poland? Is it something like "mudmen" and if so,why?

Glina (clay) for a single cop, gliny (clays) for plural. They used to have badges on their collars which resembled a pine, and since pines grow on such soils, thus the name. I think however it's a kind of a dodgy explanation.

UK, Ireland / Why so many British can't spell ? [83]

I wrote I would choose to be a Scotsman in regard to this discussion. If I were to choose from all nationalities, I'd be a Pole on eternal holiday in Margherita Isle !

UK, Ireland / Why so many British can't spell ? [83]

Who wouldn't ? LOL
BTW re immigrants paying tax - for every bottle of whisky Bart drinks he pays around £7 tax.

Not only for Ole Good Malt, but also for broccoli, Japaleno peppers and every CD (the last position is 'consumed' with my ears, however). And, sadly, it will never be refunded to me :)

UK, Ireland / Rules on Car Tax on Polish vehicle in UK [20]

they do not pay anything to the gov apart whats deducted from the anyway cheap fuel?
wow! that is very progressive and actually very fair...

I remember times, when we had to pay road tax separately. However it would be fair, if that money was spent on improving Polish road infrastructure instead of stuffing the hole in national budget.

UK, Ireland / Rules on Car Tax on Polish vehicle in UK [20]

once the tax already paid in poland ran out that is, of course...

Road tax in Poland is included in fuel price. So you don't pay it the way it is paid in the UK.

UK, Ireland / "Nostalgia" - Polish shop in Glasgow [25]

Don't know...I'll be too busy guarding my precious treasure to know what other people are drinking

Whyte & Mackay. Gin & tonic. Beer.

Prefer vodka

Scots are strange folks. Perhaps we have more in common than we think.
