News / Polish engineer beheaded in Pakistan. [347]

No, I think that those draconian people should be taken out but that governments over there should be tackling the problem. It is not for American and the Allies to step in and put their own soldiers in harms way.

If there are no Westerners over there, who would they attack, themselves? Fine, so be it. Let them fight it out for themselves.

I'm not fine with the massive loss of life at all, especially Iraqi life.

I'm not happy with the American soldiers who mocked their kids. Invading is bad enough but mocking and taunting KIDS is just plain wrong.

History / Col.Jozef Swiatlo-Secret agent, torturer, CIA-collaborator to be tried? [145]

Sometimes I wonder where the gratitude is. Wałęsa, with the help of JPII, made a major impact by eliminating the scourge of communism and all he gets are allegations of being a spy. He has exonerated himself (cleared his name) several times.

The same with this guy. He knew that conventional means were never gonna work so he had to resort to others.

As for Jews, well, it has been said that at one time every person in a position of seniority in Poland was a Jew or of Jewish origin. Not sure about the veracity of that statement.

Again, a quote taken out of context. I said in that respect that I was for the War on Terror. Ask the Americans how I feel about this. It's a phony war and then they wonder why Muslims around the world burn their flag.

They complain that they are getting no help in fighting these terrorists. The Jam wisely said, "you've made your bed, you better lie in it" (Going Underground). Judge like the War on Drugs, America may find that many of its hardest criminals lie within the administration. The CIA for example.

Oh, I dunno. Parts of Poland fit the bill but not entirely.

Polishcanuck, I was a little tongue-in-cheek there when I mentioned the anaesthetic. I was also influenced by the viewing of a Russian soldier who was beheaded straight. I couldn't believe me eyes. You just DON'T do that.

The guy above, watching the beheading of Pearl, was right to have a look at it. As it says on nomullas.com to look away is to ignore what really happens. It's as sad as it gets but it happens. No point denying it. In this respect, I'm very much for the War on Terror and the work that the likes of John P does. I'm just waiting for the day that Saudi Arabia get their turn. NOT gonna happen anytime soon though.

That's the danger, yes. Minimising civilian casualties has hardly been a major success story for either Israel of America. I'm not sure if you are aware but Karzai isn't the puppet that the US had hoped he would be. He is even threatening to ally himself closer with the Russians as Joe Biden really wound him up in their meeting.

Maybe you are right. I have discussed this with some Pakistanis and they say the same. I just fear that your government is too weak and lacks the necessary commitment to bring about the downfall of the Taliban.

Your military commander is prepared to get tough but without the required political backing, I think that the Taliban will be there to terrorise everyone for quite some time yet.

Love / HOW CAN POLISH WOMEN KEEP A BLACK MAN? [84]

Funny thread title. I just have this image of a harsh Polish woman keeping her black-skinned catch in a cage and him cringing, LOL

True enough. Many Muslims I've met personally have that radical streak. They take their religion way too seriously. Many are backwards and lack the necessary respect for women.

Have ended free speech, what? I just feel for the family of the guy. He was given some hope as he was fed well. I think he knew in his heart that his head would be lopped off. The Taliban were making unrealistic demands.

As I said before, I predict some violence in places like Peterborough, England. There are many Poles and Pakistanis there. Those Pakistanis are so inept. The militants could wipe them out even when the ratio is 5:1. They have no commitment to the cause. Time for Obama to drop them as friends. They are no such thing.

Maybe we realised that Iraq, when its democratic government was put in place, should regulate the matter.

Apologists, are you insane? I want those pigs taken out as much as you do. They are fanatical idiots. I'd be the first to rejoice were America to drop a friggin big bomb on those tribal areas.

Spot on commentary, Misty. I don't believe Bhenazir Bhutto when she said OBL was killed by Omar Sheikh. Why would he do that? It really doesn't matter. It's just a cruel joke. OBL believes that a harsh injustice has been served and that the West has run roughshod over Arabs. He has a point.

By reciprocity, I meant specifically beheading them back, to give them a taste of their own medicine.

Bombings characterised the 2001/2 response in Afghanistan. These people need to be bombed again. Having watched OBL, I'm surprised he can condone such things. He seems like a mild-mannered and thoughtful guy. He is just furious about being cheated and the Palestinians being displaced to the wind.

LOL, I think cluster bombs are illegal. Which is all the more reason to use them against these barbaric morons.

Seriously, we need to start getting very serious. AQ are reportedly getting stronger. This war will likely go on indefinitely.

I did tatami bombing in Japan. Smoke bombs to get rid of the wee beasties in the straw.

Down with the Taliban, I hope they suffer a painful death.

True. The thing is, we are too civilised to stoop to reciprocity. Some American capital punishment wouldn't be so bad.

Have you seen the coverage on onet.pl, Greg? It's not bad. Apparently, those savages want money to return the remains of his body.

They give Islam a bad name by shouting Allah Akbar all the time. They are radicals and not true Muslims.

It's time to bomb them into the middle of next week. To hell with what Pakistan says. Carpet bombing on the scale of what happened in Serbia, that's what's needed and more.

These are but words, Greg. Check to see nomullas.com, this will show you just how barbaric that ritual is. I hope they had the decency to anaesthetise him but I doubt it. I posted one on the war thread, very graphic and highly disturbing.

Stanczak, RIP. This may bolster efforts to track down those responsible. They need to die.

Language / What do you find difficult about learning Polish? [98]

Yeah, it works there to a certain extent. When I went through the border area with the Slovaks, they were gawping at me quite the thing like I was an African-American. I don't know many Slovaks overall tho. Wahldo is of Slovakian descent I think.

Well, it could help you in the Balkans perhaps. Some Poles have spoken Polish there and been understood. I plan to speak Polish there in every country bar Albania in my forthcoming 10-day trip.

Well, Stormont has clearly rubber stamped the decision to help the British Army, fair play.

About one in the same, yeah. Just a separate island

Well, fair enough. As long as he understands his commands and fulfils the criteria, yeah.

NI isn't part of Britain, Misty. It's part of the UK, yes.

I said that the Poles are better off not entering. They have their army, they can go there and train.
