Life / Question regarding Polish women vs Jobs abroad [110]

usually the most ambitious people are the 1st generation they work 70-80 hour weeks and invest their $$$ in the stock market and real-estate and buy their homes for cash.:)

the 2nd and 3rd generation? some are hard working but most have a Canadian or American mentality and are lazy :(

Life / Question regarding Polish women vs Jobs abroad [110]

Ashkenazi Jews or Jews of central and eastern Europe have made disproportionately large contributions to intellectual pursuits. Though they are about a quarter of a percent of the world's population, they comprise 28 percent of Nobel Prize winners in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, and Economics, and have accounted for more than half of world chess champions. In the United States, Ashkenazi Jews represent less than 2 percent of the population, but have won 40 percent of the Nobel Prizes in science awarded to U.S. citizens, and 25 percent of all Turing Awards. A significant decline in the number of Nobel Prizes awarded to Europeans and a corresponding increase in the number of prizes awarded to U.S. citizens occurred while Nazi persecution of Jews drove them from Europe during the 1930s and drastically reduced their numbers in Europe in the 1940

UK, Ireland / The Welsh Language [14]

if only 20% could read Welsh, 18% could write Welsh, and 24% could understand spoken Welsh then the language will be extinct within 100 years:) And it doesn't help that percentage of Welsh speakers in areas where Welsh is spoken by the majority is still in decline. The trend is not you friend:)

UK, Ireland / The Welsh Language [14]

soon the Welsh language will be extinct:)

The 2001 census also recorded that 20% could read Welsh, 18% could write Welsh, and 24% could understand spoken Welsh. Furthermore, the highest proportion of Welsh speakers was among young people, which bodes well for the future of Welsh. In 2001, 39% of children aged 10 to 15 were able to speak, read and write Welsh (many of them having learned it in school), compared with 25% of 16 to 19 year olds. However, the percentage of Welsh speakers in areas where Welsh is spoken by the majority is still in decline.

Life / Question regarding Polish women vs Jobs abroad [110]

Luka tell me why is my question narrow minded? :(

i am just curious why Poles are always labourers such as cleaners, masonry or construction workers. the labour jobs pay good $$$? maybe. we Poles don't know English that well? maybe.

look at the Jews. have you seen a Jewish plumber or carpenter? why not?
Jews are over -represented in fields like medicine, banking and law. why?

Food / the best cure for hangover-the polish way ;) [76]

in Poland they don't like shower curtains:)

when you are showering you have to kneel down :)

you cannot stand up because you will spray water everywhere due to the lack of a shower curtain:)

2. window screens aren't used.

3. people don't like to have clothes driers:)

Food / the best cure for hangover-the polish way ;) [76]

in Poland they put coffee grinds in a cup and fill it with boiling water then cover cup with plate. this makes the coffee strong :) and you have some grinds floating in the coffee and getting stuck in between your teeth:)

Life / Question regarding Polish women vs Jobs abroad [110]

franek,

what racist slur?

this was a Jewish saying "nasze kamienice , wasze ulice":)

i meant to emphasize that "Poles" prefered to be laboureres both in Poland and abroad. While other ethnic groups in Poland such as the Jews, Germans and Russians owned the capital, factories and production.

i am interested why us Poles cannot break away from the "labourer" mind set.:)

sorry franek:)

nasze kamienice, wasze ulice means The Jews own the buildings, whereas the Poles own the streets.

Polak ciagle jest robolem means that the Polish person is always the labourer

Life / Question regarding Polish women vs Jobs abroad [110]

Merged: Why do Polish women always have to be house-maids or cleaning ladies?

why do Polish women always have to be house-maids or cleaning ladies?why? From Chicago to New York to London, England we see most of the cleaning ladies being polish.

even girls with university degrees are cleaning homes and apartments. it is sad as they are wasting their lives. yet i rarely see Russian girls as cleaning ladies why? are they more ambitious?

then there are the polish men abroad. 90% of them work construction jobs which often pay good however why can't we see more Poles in banking, engineering or computer science fields?

Polak ciagle jest robolem:(

it is no wonder the Jews in Poland used to say "nasze kamienice , wasze ulice":)
