They were never liked, they were tolerated. No the recession is hitting hard people no longer tolerate them. Not rocket science really. When such numbers move into a country it puts massive strain on all sectors.

I would issue a work permit system ala Germany and Austria for the new accession states. There are also perfectly legal ways of encouraging EU foreigners home, which myself and my fellow compatriots, partake in.
Be boycotting the foreigner.

Foreigners can always be repatriated, times are changing, as are peoples opinion on them. I will not be run out of my capital city, where I was born and bred, by third worlders and slavs. Aint going to happen.
Times are changing alright, and Ireland is deporting a lot of asylum scammers and non EU citizens, for a change. It is virtually impossible for Non EU citizens to immigrate here now due to recent legislation.
As you said, times are changing, the foreigners are guests, not citizens of the Irish nation. They have no right to stay here for infinity. Repatriate, repatriate, repatriate.

That is a myth, immigrants from eastern europe do tend to be college educated.
Another myth, I met two Glasgow Celtic fans a couple of weeks ago in a boozer. They travel to and from Scotland on a weekly basis. Why? No work there for them. They where in the construction industry.
I know the job market in Scotland and there are many jobs that could be filled from people with skills from Polish technical school. Also, no offence to the Poles but many here admit that some of the less mentally capable folk came across.
That is a myth, immigrants from eastern europe do tend to be college educated.
I remember being in the job centres and I can imagine Scots turning their noses up at some of those jobs.

I am not asking for a google search, I am asking you why you think Scotland needs to import more foreigners, especailly considering there are quite a number of Scots unemployed.
