100 Zloty from 1988 bill as Xmas gift question

I just bought a bill of 100 Zloty from 1988 which I will give as part of my Xmas gift "combo" to my Polish boyfriend in an Ebay type of site.

Was the same currency used throughout all of Poland during that decade? Do you think this particular bill have any symbolism for him? (He was raised in Poland and hasn't been there in 14 years, he's 31 now).

Thanks for your help. I still have time to get other types of currencies so that's why my question (which probably sounds silly but thanks for your help anyway)

You mean this : banknoty.republika.pl/polska_rzeczpospolita_ludowa/prl74_89/100zl_15stycznia1975.jpg

It was used throughout 70s and 80s.

The value of the present is high if the man collects such stuff.

Certainly under 10 zł or 3 dollars.

Poor choice of a bank note anyway, unless he is a communist full of noastalgia.

Get him this one for his next trip to Europe:
