They want to convert that area into farms - who are going to produce biofuels.

I was refering to the newer powerplants - that are being build today. But when we are talking about such hazards in which people die or becaouse of which their children suffer genetic damage - then such things might be caoused by many causes, i.e. high-voltage powerlines - they also caouse a very serious damage to peoploles health and coal and oil powerplants create polution that also damages peoples health - even waterplants aren`t environmentfriendly cose they are destroying the waterwildlife - and my point is that out of all energy sources - only nuclear energy (and later on fusion power) is at the same time the most environment friendly, the most safe, and most importantly the most efficient source of energy.

Have you been to Poland lately??????????? Brand new architecture going up in warsaw all over the place. Foriegn investors everywhere. Spain has announced that Poland is the best place to invest of all the countries in the European Union. I have alot of family and friends in Poland. They all have families, own thier own homes and have decent paying jobs. How often do people in third world countries have cell phones, big screen TV's and computers. I don't know where you come up with third world country???? Explian yourself. There is a fabulous shopping mall in Warsaw uncompromised by anything you see here in the USA. The new Super grocery stores are chock full of every kind of food you can imagine from all over the world I hope the USA of which I was born and raised in doesn't turn into a third world country with how the automakers are doing and what's happened to the economy here! Thank You George Dub-ya. So.......... LEF.......................I think you need to do a little more research before you spout off at your keyboard again about something you haven't got a clue about.

LOL.... Next time your in poland, drive around the suburbs of a night time and see how many homeless people there are around, visit people who live in blocks and see how many people have all these "goodies".. shops may have a variety of goods, but how many poles can afford to buy them?......

Sure if you are the new rich in Poland, you can afford anything?

lef,

is it different in Australia????????
I don't think so, lots drug addicts, homeless, unemployed, living in council houses, peopel who can;t afford all goods in the shops.....

So lef don't feel too superior over Polish because there is really no reason for it.

iwona I'm not trying to speak negative, sure there are a lot of drug addicts. and people who find it hard to live due to persoanl issues, ie depression, family conflict.. but the current welfare system provides good income support and rent assistance, if a person lives in the gutter it is generally his choice, (ie he spends his welfare payments on drugs, grog, or poker machines) The drunks who are homeless are looked after by various charities ie St Vincent DePaul society, salavation army etc. no person has died due to lack of food.

The current unemployemnt rate in oz is 4.8% and as mentioned in previous post oz needs skilled people and is crying out for good people.

Poland has not the safety net and a lot of people are left to use there own resources, which means homeless people are left to freeze in winter...

I'm sorry that is the sad reality,, I get very upset when I hear from people who are the new rich in poland who have it very well who cannot see the plight of there struggling brother!
