Why did Poland remove the Eagle from the Flag?

Why? I remember it was done after ww2. Im sure someone here knows.

My beef is, the flag is kind of boring without it, but so cool with.

I know it goes back almost 1000 years, found that out from the restaurant that I go too...

Guess the eagle got kinda tired and just flew away to be on someone else's flag.

I see you found something else to stick on your own flag...

There is such a thing as too much going on on a flag. It's possible that the eagle just bakes it look a bit too busy. I don't really know. I just know that in a fight, the Welsh dragon would whip some Polish eagle backside, which could in turn knock the socks of any of those boring flags of only two or three colours (if they had socks... I don't believe any national flags bear the emblem of a pair of socks, folded or otherwise... Hang on - I need a closed bracket somewhere around here.)

That's a nice ankle. I mean eagle.

Is it a real tattoo or just a stick-on-with-water thing?

Yeah, Wroclaw looks nice. I'm beginning to wish I'd decided to go there instead of Nowa Huta.

Am going at the end of next week. I like the idea of gritty industrial realism, but I suppose I heard so much about it when I was a child watching TV that it sounded fascinating and stuck in my head.

They were always talking about Gdansk, Gdinia and Nowa Huta Steelworks. The names fascinated me.

Hopefully, I'll get the chance to meet 'real' people, instead of the tourist-orientated ones.

Besides, it's not too far from Kraków. So I guess I can get the best of both worlds.

The eagle probably emmigrated to britian in search of better work and lifestyle, I bet it will show up on the british flag tomorrow.

Maybe because the communists removed the crown and it wasn't so cool without it :D but i see a lot of flags with the eagle, and in the movie Katyn there is a flag without eagle in ww2!

The eagle is still there. That variation is used abroad, at sea, and will be used at war.
