I am looking for information about Zelig Zimmerman born in Kolo between 1802 - 1812. I have relatives from Kolo and I am certain I still have relatives in Kalisz. My second great grandfather is Jacob Zimmerman who was born on January 16, 1854.
Yes they are Jewish. And I have found a great deal of information on other websites but I'm looking for more current relatives to see if, by chance, any of them know anything.
You could try registering on nasza-klasa.pl website and try searching here (even though a quick search shows, that there are no registered users being both Zimmerman/ Cymmerman/ Cymerman AND living in Kalisz) - provided you speak Polish or have someone to translate. Mind that their surnames might have changed a bit when they left Poland - most likely, your grandfather's surname in Poland was Cymmerman or Cymerman.
other variant of the spelling is Zimerman (single m and single n) like the Polish piano player Krystian Zimerman (winner of The International Frederick Chopin Piano Competition in 1975)
drops, yes the name was spelled Cymerman in Poland. I do have somebody who can translate Polish for me and I have actually found a website that does a passable job of translating. I will check the website you have listed.
