Swetala / Switala

My mothers father's name is Walter Swetala. I beleive the Polish spelling is Svitala. He came from Warsaw prior to 1910. Any help would be greatly appreciated, my mother and I are going to Poland this fall and would love to connect.

I think the correct spelling of the name is: Świtala

My Grandfather was :
Edward Walter Swetala, he married Veronica (Vera) Borczyk on 10/27/1901, They lived in Omaha , Nebraska.

Where did he go when he left Poland, USA? What city?

And do you have an approx. date of birth?

Sorry, should have read that 2nd post of yours better.

I found them in the census for Nebraska and it has their immigration dates listed there.

He is listed as W. Edward Switala, age 40 in 1920 and he arrived in the US from Germany/Poland in 1891. She is listed as H. Vera Switala age 36 in 1920 and she arrived from same, in 1886.

If you can get his Provisional Application Naturalization form from UCIS (start at the county courthouse in Nebraska) using that info, then that will tell you where he was originally from in Poland. His death cert may also state that origin, depending on who filled it out upon his death.

My grandfather was from Wroclaw and immigrated to America in the 1890's. My mother, sister and I are going to visit there this October and would like to find any family. Can you help?
