Hi I am lloking for some guidance here. After a 30 year search I have just returned from a trip to Poland to meet my cousins who live in the village of Bobrek which is near Austchwitz and whom bear the name Jamroz.I was able to visit the local church and see the graves of my ancestors the earlist one being in 1956.Now from what I could gather the Jamroz family have lived in the area and next to the River Vistula since at least 1890 and with the help of family I have drawn up a family tree.It was very noticeable that the surname of my grandmother "Slzachcic" was not evident in the graveyard and none of my family knows anything about her origin. I can approximate that Rozalia and Joseph married in about 1889 as their first child Marianna is shown as being 8 years old on the ships manifest when Rozalia emigrated to America in 1897 with her second child "Karol".Karol's induction papers in America show him recording his birthplace as "Oswiecim". I Although I know some of ther family history for the passed three generations I cannot really find out anything prior to those generations and nothing about the Szlachcic side.I assume that Joseph and Rozalia married local to Bobrek.Could anybody guide me to where I can trace their marriage and Rozlia's family. She appears to have been born around 1870. Any help will be appreciated.

The name Szlachcic refers to the nobility. Could it be that Rozalia was the daughter of a nobleman.
