Froggy.........
Rós is a estimated islandi surname, and a rose on this language.
Ros in spanish is the same as rosso=read - and it is sametime a surname.
Ros is also a christian name and a surname in an english - american context.

Froggy!!!!

I think the correct Polish last name should be: Roś .. 717 persons in poland have this
surname...............

Hi everyone,
I am trying to research my Ros ancestry. How can I research the 717 persons in Poland who have this ancestry name? The spelling is closer to the one Jola mentions. They lived in Slovakia, but someone in the family mentioned that they may have emigrated from Poland. How can I research this furhter? Will appreciate any help.

Ross in the Scottish context means headland in Gaelic, there is a region called Ross in the Highlands. It is also a family name, there are many Ross's in Scotland. The Clan Ross originates from the 12th Century.

Sound obviously Polish, but you are correct in assuming the person may have been Jewish.

Maybe this will help: cherlvin.nfshost.com/HT/PF/joze-f02.html.

This is an equivalent of marriage preregistration (allowing the marriage to take place) and it is scheduled to have taken place in the city of Włocławek in 1929 in the local synagogue. Links at the top of page may be useful too.
