Question on Rzeszow, locating Pobitna (suburb?) and Mikula ancestors

Hi, I'm working on tracking down my Polish ancestors, and I have a Rzeszow question for anyone who can help me.

My great-grandfather, Albert Mikula, and his brother came over from Poland around 1905 and settled in Wisconsin. My great-aunt, who knows a lot of the family history, said that he was born in Pobitna. She said that it was a small village that was absorbed into Rzeszow over time as the city grew (perhaps in the early 1900's?). Does anyone know what section of Rzeszow city this is? I've had no luck when doing searches online.

Also, I have the names of Albert's parents, so I'm hopeful that when I go to Poland in a couple weeks, I can research farther back. The Mikula's lived in Pobitna and owned land there for over 300 years. Where would I go to do further geneology research? Would I check a church in Rzeszow (if it wasn't destroyed in the war?) or is there a better place to check, such as a website?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Thanks so much. The only bummer is that I unfortunately don't know Polish. I'll have to dig around and get a translation. Thanks for the help :)

I live close to Rzeszow and I can tell that Pobitno now is not village but this is a part of Rzeszów, it belongs to Rzeszów. And here you have website church in Pobitno (but it's only in Polish language):

pelczar.rzeszow.pl/index_a.htm

And here you have Rzeszów map with Pobitno:

Thanks for the information - I'm planning to visit Pobitno in a couple weeks, and this helps me a lot. I'm going to try to get this information translated before I leave.

Do you know where I could go to find information on my family who lived in Pobitno for the past 300 years? I'd like to find out their names and birth/death dates. Would there be a place in Rzeszow that would have that information? Perhaps the church in Pobitno?

I suppsoe the information about your family (birth/death dates) you could find in church, coz in church should be these information or you could find this information in registry in Rzeszów (it's call in Polish Urząd Stanu Cywilnego w Rzeszowie), here you have addrees Urząd Stanu Cywilnego: Rzeszów, pl. Ofiar Getta 7.
