I spend alot of time trying to locate my family in Poland and was just wondering if Polish families are looking for us?
Do Polish people search for family that were deported to another country?
Usually not. Most of people have many relatives here in the country.
What about the ones deported?
I don't know but you can't even be sure that they are any relatives left in Poland.
never heard of anyone ever getting kicked out of poland.. hmm
Deported after communism took over, not kicked.
deported = kicked out.
never heard of anyone ever getting kicked out of Poland..
Really ?
No not kicked out choose not to live under communist rule. Fought to hard to be free to live like that.
that's not deported but departed.. why wouldn't they then keep in touch with their family? doesn't really make sense. hmm
yes, really Gregor.
yes, really Gregor.
Polish people that departed were busy starting over in new country. If you recall they did not get government assistance. Calling a communist country from a free country to search for missing family is not what you may think. Most of the family was dead to begin with and even the ones living in Ukraine or Russia could not get over the boarder to keep in touch. I am from the first generation born in USA. For me not speaking Polish is difficult now let alone prior to 89 when records were hidden. My grandfather started fighting when he was 15 to have a free Poland at 51 after fighting in Anders Army and then under the British command only to be betrayed and lose his fight for freedom, you are right he said goodbye to his homeland he loved.
