Lewandziewski - where does this name come from?

Lewandziewski - I am the daughter of Czeslaw and living in Australia - does anyone know anything about my family roots?

It does sound like a polish surname;-)

Ellis Island records : Doesn't show anything.

A search of Australian records means a state by state check

Just my opinion. I think the original name was possibly Lewandowski.
