Do you have any idea what area your family resided in originally?

I am sorry but I do not know but it might have been this area and I might be spelling it wrong. Does the name Krekow or something like that seem right?

Could it have been Nahirnuk? That would be the Ukrainian equivalent of Nagórniak, a patronymic nick meaning the son of the bloke who lives on the hill.

I am looking for any relatives in Poland with the last name Nagorniak or Nahirnuk. My grandfather is from Mutchoff. Can any one help me? Thank You.

There is 1 person surnamed Nagórniak living in SE Poland's Zamość area along the Ukrainian border. No-one currently uses the Nahirnuk spelling in Poland.
