Anyone have any information on these surnames? I believe they came from the area surronding Tarnow.

I came across many Kokoszko/as on [straty.pl] 62 Kokoszkas in fact! It gives you their town of birth so you may be able to get some more info.

Hi G, there is a thread to do with this topic from a few weeks back. Basically it is a register of poles who were shipped off to German work/concentration camps during WW2.

my paternal grandmother was Stella Dzielak, her maiden name was Wolenski or Woleski and her sister was married to a Kokoszka. My father called her chotcka or aunt Nellie.
