I have just bought myself a tub of twaróg cheese (the creamy 8% fat variety). Apart from eating it straight out of the tub, has anyone got any serving suggestions?

Add it to warm cooked pasta with some dried herbs.

Add it to scrambled eggs (don't knock it until you've tried it)

Butterfly a chicken breast, again season the cheese with some herbs and bake.

Make a cheese sauce

That would involve cooking skills! But thanks for your suggestions.

Good idea I have some spuds that need eating before they sprout... by the sounds of it you can use it pretty much like cottage cheese or creme fraiche

Yes I think so. vvv described about how to use it similar to feta. Really I'm not too sure though, I'm not keen on cheeses. :)

I like it on bread with a little soya sauce and a tomato.

Other simple way to serve is to mix with some powdered spices (hot paprika or pepper or both, salt, basil, and if you like it also fresh garlic or chives, you may also use fresh paprika instead of the powdered one) and some cream (it's better to use sour cream, if you can buy it where you live, or even a very small amount of milk).

That would involve cooking skills!

So I guess pancakes and pierogi with cheese are out of question? Not to mention sernik :)

I was joking about the cooking! All suggestions gratefully received.

My fiancee has a super idea.

Put it in a soup bowl, put in 1 or 2 egg yolks (depending on the quantity of twaróg you have), add some sugar and vanilla essence to taste and whisk it. It tastes really got, I can vouch for that.

yes and that's how you eat pancakes...
(one of many options)
cukier puder works better then vanilla essence...

Okonomiyaki is superb. I have 3 sushi rolls in the fridge. Wasabi, ginger and soy too. Cool.

How's the toro sushi there, pgtx? Toro is tuna belly and is considered a luxury in Japan. I tried it and was thoroughly impressed.

Miso-shiro (soup), hmm...not too fond of it.

Ika (squid) is tasty too.

My fiancee made 6 rolls yesterday. I had 3 and felt pretty bad, too much for me. Bloated like Mr Blobby I was :(

you could also mix the twaróg with a bit of sour cream, just to make it smoother... and add some radish, chive, fresh cucumber and tomato... salt and pepper to taste...

good on a piece of a toast...

I thought chives would go well with it. I just had some with my potato wedges.

I already posted something very similar (Today, 06:50 #8).
If I were a mod I'd move your post to random chat.

joking of course, it's not my intention to mess with the new mods :)
