I am looking for a recipe for my mothers retirement party. She would love is I made something with a polish origin. I am not one of the best cooks, so something not so hard would be great;) I am thinking of a desert. I made Chrust, for my daughters heritage day at school. The kids loved it.

Hi there Kristan, depending on how formal your party is my Grandmother made a mean cabbage soup and its easy to do as well. When your finished making it put it in a big crock pot and people can serve themselves. I also know some fillings for pierogies too if you would like them.

I remember when I lived in Sweden, I made placki z jabłkami (thick "pancakes" with apples) for an international buffet and all the foreigners absolutely loved them! It's a good idea for a party, as placki are sweet (kind of sweet meal rather than desert though), may be eaten with your fingers, both hot and cold - great for buffet! Thy are also very easy to make - if you need a recipe, let me know!
